Former "maverick" (at least, kind of...) who sold himself out to the right-wing in order to secure the nomination after they bypassed him for Shrub back in 2000. (On that note, he is also apparently lacking in self-respect to the point that he was all lovey-dovey with Shrub in '04 after Rove and co. launched character assassination attacks on him in that 2000 campaign.) He used to condemn the religious right, now he sucks up to them. He opposed the Bush tax cuts; now he wants to make them permanent., etc.

Even considering these things, he was probably the best the Repugs could come up with and they managed to pick him. And he's getting to sit out of harm's way and strategize for November while the Democrats are still going back and forth at each other. Sadly, it's not too surprising how this has played out so far...

too much to mention. the guy has practically ZERO chance of becoming president. only way he can win is if super delegates override will of the dem voters. the guy doesnt appeal to either side of the political spectrum, and hes the shittiest moderate imaginable. his only appeal is the war hero story -- thats it. hes a sitting duck.

He is an RW hawk. AND he has no real knowledge about other countries. E.g. when he came to the UK, he spoke at the Tory conference, and expressed his desire to spread 'Republicanism around the globe'. In the UK, 'Republicanism' means either anti-monarchy views or a desire for Northern Ireland to become part of the Republic of Ireland instead of the UK - and neither view is common among English Tories!
