I was just plagued by a fear that McSame would make some astoundingly brilliant choice for VP that would make him impossible to beat. But then I thought, who would it be? The only name I've really heard mentioned is Mitt Romney, and I don't see how a cardboard cut-out with a wacky religion would help much.

Who might he pick? Colin Powell? I guess Condi is out. Is there anyone out there we should be worried about?

1. Personally, I hope he choses Minnesota's Tim Pawlenty. Then we
can get something done in Minnesota. It will be good to return to our progressive roots.

2. Condi is definitely a threat
Edited on Sat Apr-19-08 09:46 AM by SpiralHawk
To America and Planet Earth.

She is a unique combination of arrogance, incompetence, insincerity, prevarication, and seething torturous hostility.

Spare us, O' Lord, from further Republicon homelanders and their Evil Plagues of fiscal folly, Veteran Neglect & Abuse, Nation Building Wars of Agression & Occupation, Shock & Awe visciousness, Environmental Destruction, Oil Price Hikes, General Lies about Everything, Sexual Deviancy & Hypocrisy, etc. etc. etc. ad nauseum..

4. She is the one I fear most as v.p. choice for the son of Cain.
And the scary thing is that huge numbers of voters might think she is A.O.K.

10. Yep, I third Condi
a black female as Veep will screw up the minority and female vote just enough to make a D win iffy.

It will also motivate some freeps who hate McCain to show up at the polls.

3. Huckabee could be a concern
But admittedly, he may be a fundy, but at least it appears he may have some integrity. That is why I find him scary, because his affability is disarming, and people tend to overlook his zealotry because of his likable personality. He would also shore up McCain's conservative support

Romney is a joke. He would bring nothing. Condaleeza Rice would only turn away the bigots. To them, she is fine as a token peon, but they would never vote for any ticket with her on it. I can't see Colin Powell running with McCain.

6. If Condi gets the nod, unlikely, then REPUBLICON TORTURE would be an issue
Edited on Sat Apr-19-08 09:48 AM by SpiralHawk
As it should be, in any event.

Four more years of Torture?

I feel most Americans would not go for that...she has been decisively outed now on her barrage of lies about torture -- and anyone paying attention knows she approved it, with malice and cowardice, along with Commander AWOL Bush & Dickie 'Five Military Deferments' Cheney.

22. I would go with Huckabee, too....
...he has some genuine charm about him. I think his ideas suck beyond all belief and that he is nuts...but I do have to admit that he can really work a crowd.

7. This is an important question to investigate.
I know we would like to think we have this thing in the bag, but I wouldn't be counting chickens just yet.

21. That's what has me worried!
Condi issued a pretty definite "no" statement this week, but I keep thinking there's someone else people actually like (?) that he might pick.

23. These pieces of shit ain't dumb.
That's why they are in power and have arrested our Constitution and duped America.

They will likely pick a running mate that could possibly tip the votes in their favor.

Coupled with another "attack" or some disaster they could rake in on the remaining fear/ignorance that exists in this country.

8. Hillary
They are so close on the issues, and she would bring in the blue-collar, hard drinking, hunt on the weekends vote.
