He always had something funny and smart to say. The primaries were interesting back then.

1. Great talk-tough snappy witticism guy. Too bad his votes don't back it up....
... But he's great as a talk show winner for us.

15. absolutely!
And still is, hasn't endorcement yet and has reminded us all to stay calm and let the process play out. All the while reminding us that McLame is an easy target in the fall.

Can you imagine him debating McCain? He'd shred him.

He's still fighting the good fight for us back in Washington -- trying to get us the hell out of Iraq, giving Crocker and Patraeus a hard time.

6. Yes, he would be the real deal
and they wouldn't be "vetting" him cuz he's been around too long. He'd be a good VP.

8. He deserves it.
And if something happened to the president, really- he could be president. I know he's a corporate guy and all, but he's smart and experienced and stable and so much better than the Republicans and why didn't he do better?

16. He deserves to be president.
And he's not a corporate guy. If you are referring to the bankruptcy vote, that was going to pass anyway and he was ab;le to work in a provision to help single mothers, and he represents Delaware which is where the cc companies are. His 35 years of votes make him clearly democratic, and he's 99th in the senate in terms of personal wealth.

Best candidate hands down. Too bad too many ignorant people out there don't know the facts about Joe.

19. Why didn't he do better?
Money. (That's always my answer for everything :7).

I don't think most people outside of IA, NH and those of use who were into it, were paying much attention at that time, so America at large didn't really get a chance to hear what he had to say. If they had, I think he could have held on longer.

But as I said, he's still got our backs, so we're in good hands. :hi:

36. Gately, you are so right about the money.
When I was sporting my Joe Biden for President bumper sticker, a co-worker, who has seen all my other liberal stickers, commented, "I'm surprised you're supporting a republican." :eyes: :banghead:

Love your optimism. I'm short on it.

27. Actually,
I'm hoping he'd get Sec of State... often VP is a position without much real control or influence, KWIM? I think he'd be an absolutely amazing Secretary of State.

I miss Joe too:(

9. in the debates last fall he tried to steer it from the catty stuff back to issues
Something like, "look, the American people don't care about this stuff, they care about..." and he changed the subject.

Edwards raised the quality in the debates too.

11. He truly is worthy of being missed
and never got the media recognition he deserved. I'll be missing Joe for a long time. We won't be seeing another such as him anytime soon. Perhaps one of his extraordinary children may take the stage some day.

22. All snarkiness aside,
I've learned a lot about the real situations in other countries from Biden. I really look to him to hear what he has to say about Pakistan, Iran, Lebanon, Syria and of course Iraq, because we sure as hell aren't getting the lowdown from our Government or the MSM.

with respect to a number of foreign policy issues.

32. Amen to that.
And I guess we can be thankful that the experienced Dem Senators like Kennedy, Biden, Kerry, Dodd, and Feingold- who know something about foreign policy- will be humble enough and care enough about this country to just step in when they're needed and advise the new president, because whichever one it is will know less than they do.

41. When...
I think of Joe Biden, his qualifications, his experience and his skills...And then I think of who we have remaining, I just shake my head. How did we go from having a lock on the General Election to now having it a horse-race? We couldn't have made it more difficult on ourselves if we tried.
