Poll question: Who will be the most smear-able in the general election? |
|
As creator of this poll I won't get into making lists, however, there is one candidate who I feel has a very massive amount of information concerning past actions and associations that can be used by the righties to run smears with in the general election.
I don't want to know who the Republicans think is more smear-able.
Who do WE at DU think is more smear-able?
Feel free to explain why and if in fact it will matter.
For the record, I think McCain will lose to either candidate.

The repubs have a history of winning the white house by invoking race. I support hillary but if Obama is the nominee I will vote for him.

4. Both are equally smearable. |
|
But Hillary has the added problem of people telling the truth about her.

7. I agree on the equal estimation. The corrupt righties will make it their job. |
|
I think the electorate will be rejecting that form of campaign. Too many decades if it. I think we've finally wised-up.
The corporate media, however, will be spinning and the bullshit will be flying.

8. Sen. Clinton is the most smear-able because the Republicans |
|
have lots of practice in smearing Pres. Clinton and will dredge up everything from the past. Limbaugh and other talking heads will just put in old tapes of their past shows - everything old is new again.
I support Obama, but will of course vote for Sen. Clinton if she is our nominee. This is one thing I am afraid of - bringing up the past.

|
He's goint to be on the front lines of these smears that have been in the planning stages for years.

That's what Republicans do. They smear. It doesn't matter how free of skeletons any candidate's closet might be; if they can't find any they will just make shit up. That's why all this whining about one candidate or the other being "unelectable" because of potential Republican swiftboating is bullshit. They'd smear Jesus to win an election.
In fact, it's pretty obvious that the excuse for the current smearing of one Democratic candidate by the other -- the Republicans will do it so we'd better pre-swiftboat him now -- is pure bullshit. The intent is to just make voters and especially SDs *believe* he's unelectable. I think they are smarter than that.

We've only seen a fraction of the shit that will be thrown at them in this primary.
It's the racist or sexist whisper campaign that McCain's allies will launch that we should really be concerned about.
