Dear Senator Obama

I was looking at some photos of you taken outside in the last day or so. I don't want a martyr. I want a President. Please don't expose yourself outdoors in public anymore. I remember when Jesse Jackson was outside in clear view of many downtown Omaha buildings while running in 88. I was scared for his safety. We don't get many candidates in Omaha. I was worried again when Senator Kerry was outside in clear view in Sioux City, Iowa just before the convention of 04. I don't trust the Secret Service. After the incident in Dallas (of all cities Dallas) earlier this year with the security lapse, I ask you to keep your head down, and inside.

2. He is running for nomination for a public office..he cannot hide nor does he expect to.

It is unfortunate in this democracy that it is so..but, the unbalanced mind is not limited to open air events...Trust that all of our candidates will be protected as best possible.

3. In before the lock

I posted about this fear about a week ago and was locked by a mod because I linked people of change: to wit: JFK, MLK, and RK. I don't know why it was locked, except maybe the mod thought I was insane.
On a totally different note Steve, I saw a movie the other day called "Harlan County, USA." It was about the strike of coal miners in '73. They eventually won and became part of the UMWA. It was a documentary and I thought of you, and I know you would like the movie. Great music too.

A president does not just sign bills and give speeches. He is a leader.

He has to be exposed and out front otherwise fear will build.


I think it is quite simple actually. He will survive and America will survive. Because we are better than that.

He was never out in public. He was only visible to those that went through security inside. I was out on the protest line. We were serving soup to the homeless. I was a card carrying member of the GAU then. I also had a card for the Omaha Jazz Society, ...

A private mail reminded me Bobby was inside in '68.

12. Wow - I was just thinking the same thing. Seeing him in just a shirt out in the open I couldn't help

but wonder if that button-down collar shirt was made of Kevlar.

It's not too out-there to suggest all of future-President Obama's suits come with Kevlar lining, and that he wear jackets at all times out in the open. Not that that would have stopped the crackshot shooting behind the grassy knoll.
