Edited on Mon Jun-28-04 08:18 PM by Vote_Clark_In_WI
(and on Larry King, no less!) - a real discussion - they're letting him talk!!! I'm enjoying the interaction between Warner and Clark - and even Anderson Cooper had to agree with Wes!

edited for clarity

. . . being cut off, AND then deleted in a re-broadcast.
Also, wonder if our e-mails helped?

Edited on Mon Jun-28-04 09:39 PM by Dinger
last night. Adleman was on Crossfire, and looked idiotic, AND was not on as much as Clark on Larry King, AND Wes was in PRIMETIME!

P.S. You know, I really would like to see how Edwards would be on t.v. now, what he'd have to say, etc., but he just isn't on. Yes, I am a total Wesley Clark supporter, but I also want to hear what others have to say. Will Edwards be on t.v. soon, anywhere?

Cuts to clips of Shrub....

reading a statement, & looking like a bozo as usual.

Wes is on the panel discussing political, international, & military strategies, sounding brilliant.

If John Kerry is as intelligent as I think he is, he will choose Wes.

10. Shoshana Johnson is pretty awesome
I'm glad she is finally getting some airtime. Nothing against you know who, but we all know that a little blonde white girl is what the media wants as it's "damsel in distress". :eyes: Not that Johnson would want to be exploited that way.

I saw an article in the Periscope section of Newsweek June 21 edition about Wes Clark, Edwards and Gephardt being the 3 on the short list. That they had been told "to clear their schedules" for the week in case Kerry wanted to meet with them privately.

14. that's a man who speaks from experience
his handling of kosovo which put a lot of thought on how the troops will be cared for and protected is a great example. they made sure they had a plan for things such as security forces to keep the people secure and many other things with TRUE international support including resources. he learned of the culture of the peoples of the area also to make it easier to work with them.

for those who attack clark for being a military man. i would take that military man over non military guys like bush, cheney, rumsfeld, wolfowitz, perle, rice anyday.

67. Military people who knew Ollie when he was in
Can't stand him. I've found that to be true 100%, even among conservatives.

His following was always among civilians, at least until he got his radio show. He was always a real jerk who thought he was a lot more important that he was, did things he had no business doing. Not on his own--he was "following orders" but he made himself available for those orders because he wanted to be more than just another Lt Col. but without having to do the real work to get promoted. Glory hound.

39. Well, I don't like him and never have.
I had to listen to Warner singing *'s praises for every outrage he's committed over the last 3 plus years far too many times. Lately there have been several Senators who have expressed problems with the deteriorating situation in Iraq, but in the end they always brown nose * again. And actually I never remember Warner questioning anything about *'s handling of Iraq, but I avoid listening to Repubs so I could easily have missed it.

What surprised me, probably because I've become so conditioned to being outraged, was how Warner really, really was appalled by the torture. I noticed a real change after that second set was shown to congress.

36. Word of the day: De minimis
De minimis

The full expression is de minimis non curat lex. This is a Latin phrase which means "the law does not care about very small matters". It can be used to describe a component part of a wider transaction, where it is in itself insignificant or immaterial to the transaction as a whole, and will have no legal relevance or bearing on the end result.

Ah_Wes dips into the Latin today.

This is the second time during my many Wes listening hours when I thought he misspoken. I should know by now...if that man uses a word, it is the exact word that belongs in that exact spot.

I'm a fool for economy of language; Wes takes the concept to a whole new level.

93. What a great idea!
I'm due to send something to WesPAC anyway.

I did make a donation to the campaign debt yesterday. I figure, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, that since his campaign is technically suspended, it's still subject to all the rules of campaign finance reform. Wouldn't that mean tomorrow is the last day we can contribute?

68. Notice the clip of Kerry??? Punched up his speaking a bit...as he
commented on the handover....with some pointed remarks right from the Clark collection...

You know, this could be some one-two punch. What a team, hammering away at Bushco............................

70. If he starts..
Letting the Kerry people choose his ties, I'm going ballistic! He was wearing a yellow tie, YELLOW for chrissakes, on Fox the other night. I just know that was the Kerry camp's doing, I know it!

Stop the madness!

73. He was wearing yellow when Kerry
was wearing salmon...
If that means anything.

Today, Kerry had on a darker mauvish-pink than the salmon and Clark had on the garnet.

Quick! We need the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy people to give us a run-down on what these colors mean!

85. That entire hour was wonderful!!!!
I watched it 3 times, cause I m in Hawaii!!!

Wes for 1 hour, with other intelligent people, having a serious discussion.

Priceless!!!!

Wes also got a bunch of questions...shows the viewers know which way is up. Only 1 brainless Bushbot called in.

86. Really Good Discussion Of Many Issues

John Warner, Wes Clark, Shosanna Johnson, Larry King, Anderson Cooper and Bob Sheiffer (CBS).

The calls into the show were amazing. Most callers asked questions of Clark and Warner, and also Johnson. One caller asked about the borders question (Cooper had interviewed someone on his show earlier and the caller was asking him to repeat it. The story was how porous the borders are now, danger - someone on the LK show, this point was not coming out).

When asked what went wrong in Iraq. Clark, Sheiffer said needed more troops. Johnson said troops were well trained, the plan was bad. The troops only cared about marching to Bagdad, but they drove by ammunitions dumps and left them standing. Johnson said should have taken out dumps when they were there.

One caller asked the panel to say whether they will see F911, and if they saw it what they thought. Warner said it is his obligation/duty to see it. Clark said he hadn't seen it, but would. Johnson said it would be painful for her to see it b/c of all friends she lost. Shieffer said something which I missed, but I thought he said he wasn't going to see it, but that he would know b/c of all the attention it received - anybody else remember?

Johnson also talked about not having all the gear they needed - that she had right tools to cook, but that didn't have right gear to stop bullets (vests). Need to get right gear to military. She was a proud proud soldier-- really impressive. She is very sad, very disheartened, but proud of her colleagues.

Wes did a great job talking about Fallahuh and the trouble brewing there. This came out later in the show again, when a caller asked about it, and Cooper had to acknowledge that the city was becoming its own little taliban place.

The only comment Wes made where I wished he had been clearer, taken more time was Warner asked (he did a few times stop and say, Larry if I could just ask - and then would ask Clark a question) Clark whether the war would have gone better if troops were able to enter the country thru turkey/kurdish territory as originally planned. This was a set up IMO, trying to say it is turkey's fault the war didn't go well. Larry gave Clark no time to answer this, but Clark just said yes, things would have gone better if the troops could have gone thru turkey. This answer should have included IMO some reference to the fact that turkey was opposed to the war, as was their right.

All in all, a great discussion - no yelling, no people talking over each other (except for warner asking to ask questions of others).

89. Troopss through Turkey
Warner was deflecting Sheiffer's critism of the troop strength, and Warner doing his GOP duty deflected to Turkey. Clark's answer of "would have helped" was too short. Considering he goes on at some length about the troops being unable to move through Turkey, and also about the build up of battlions being reckless in "Winning MW", he has plenty to say about this. It appears he made a decision on the spot that the subject was too complicated and not his hill to take for the evening.

90. It was also clear that time was running out on the show
Clark gives back a few of the many points he scores by coming across cool calm and collected if he rushes to squeeze too much content into a few seconds at the very end of an interview, so I agree with you about it being a spot decision, and it was the right one. Clark further scores points for being a true expert, rather than just a political shill when he comes across as being reasonable and not merely looking for another angle to stick a knife into Bush. It's part of what makes his such a devastating opponent to the Bush regime.

Yup, I stayed up late and caught the rerun. Twas well worth it.

92. Whats making me smile this a.m.
The camera shot of Wes beaming while Johnson stuck a fork into bush at the very end. He quickly caught himself on the monitor and pulls down the window shade over his internal glee; but as one cyber-patriot noted: he's really quite a rascal.

102. Shoshona was asked about whether she would see F911...she said
she didn't know, since she had lived through some of it and it could be upsetting. However, she said that she was glad Moore had gotten the film release after Disney refused...because how can we say we're fighting for freedom if our 1st Amendment rights are taken away? (paraphrase)...Which is exactly what Clark has intimated previously (in general terms). When they cut to him, you could see he was pleased and he praised her for her service....

She was also great in explaining how the plan stunk...not securing the ammo, etc. just barreling to Baghdad and not holding territory....

94. As usual, I missed the first airing
of Larry King. I did get to catch the repeat at 11:00 and I must say, that was one of the BEST interviews ever where Clark was included! He had a lot of air time and answered the questions BRILLIANTLY, of course and everyone was very respectful of each other...very rare these days. I wish Larry King would do a 1 hour program with JUST CLARK. Shoshana (SP?) Johnson was AWESOME. I loved how she got in her little jabs at the administration. She was GREAT!

Clark's reply to the F911 question was so CUTE! That smile! <sigh> :loveya:

I missed him on the Today show. I saw that the video is available to view so, I'll be sure to watch it.

Go Wes! :bounce:
