Looking Forward.
It will be some kind of a "one-week transitional period." I am already preparing to pause and reflect about a hundred times in order to not post something I'll long regret....

WHAT WILL HAPPEN HERE ON DU WHEN WE HAVE A PRESUMPTIVE DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE.

Let me be clear: We expect our members to support the Democratic nominee for president....

When we have a presumptive nominee, the time for fighting on DU will come to an end.... And we have no doubt that the vast majority of our members -- regardless of which candidate you support in the primaries -- will be glad to move forward and support the nominee.

We understand that not everyone will be prepared to immediately put the primaries behind us. There will be some jerks on the winning side who insist on gloating. And there will be some sore losers on the other side who will want to keep attacking the nominee. Once we have a presumptive nominee, those people will have one week to get it out of their systems. We believe that a one-week transitional period is more than fair for those of you who cannot switch gears easily or quickly. After this week-long adjustment period, we're done.

At that point, the moderators and admins will step in and shut down the primary infighting. The vast majority of people on this site will be glad to be done with the primaries. Sadly, a very small number of bitter partisans will not be able to let it go, and will likely be removed from this community. Few people will miss them when they are gone.

As usual, we will continue to permit constructive criticism of the Democratic nominee and of other Democratic candidates and officeholders. We will also continue to permit sincere, non-disruptive expressions of ambivalence toward the nominee. But we will not permit politically motivated attacks designed to tear down the Democratic presidential nominee.

1. Hopefully we will pull together and remember that a whole lot more
is riding on this election than our own egos.

4. It will depend on who is the winner....
...Hillary Clinton has this nasty habit of insulting any Democratic Party voter who opposes her.

It will have to be a both-sided deal here. If she wins, and if she expects Dem voters to rally behind her, she must quit insulting the Obama supporters.

Unfortunately, that is now Hillary sees things. In her ham-fisted way, she believes she is ENTITLED to the votes of all Democratic Party voters and, being entitled, she doesn't have to do anything different than what she is doing now.

I guarantee that if she wins, and if she continues insulting and inflaming the Obama voters, she will not get the kind of support from the Obama supporters to which she feels she is entitled.

7. I defended Bill Clinton with flame throwers
And I've always despised that SOB

It's not statistically possible at this point for Clinton to be the nominee without a perceived usurpation of the people's will by the Party

Our candidate needs more than ten weeks to campaign

The Party knows it... PA knows it... everybody knows it... expect momentum both in the electorate and the SD leadership VERY SOON

Despite all of my early foreboding... I'm convinced this will all be over soon.

no more nightmare scenarios...

OK... I'm lying... plan for the worst hope for the best...

regarding "nightmare scenarios" I should quote Geo.Patton,

"God help me but I DO love it so."
