18. The $2,000 ceiling doesn't apply to DNC contributions.

Under the "Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002" you can give up to (a) $37,500 to all federal candidates ($2,000 per candidate) and (b) $25,000 to a national party committee, during a 2-year cycle. Total overall contributions to federal elections was raised to $95,000 per 2-year cycle. So, go for it!

Hmm, since you don't have a star by your name, it indicates that you don't contribute $ to this site, but you post on it.

I'm also a member of my town's Democratic Committee and am helping the Democrats retake our US Rep seat. You don't have to be a Nader supporter to hate Kerry. Democrats, like me, can hate him and vote for him at the same time. So get use to the fact that many Dems, as well as non-Dems, despise Kerry.

Those of us who don't like Kerry are contributing time and money to other Democratic and progressive candidates, as well as getting involved with our local Democratic Party Committees. I'm helping my Congressional District to return to the Dem fold.

Get matched by the federal election fund, as I understand it.

But they MUST be spent by the date of the nomination, as thechnically they are still donations to the primary candidacy. I trust there will be NO problem getting these funds spent!

The DNC funds can get spent up to the General Election.
