Obama: McSame would be better than Bush
Obama: McSame would be better than Bush;ironic, hurts Dem efforts against McSame

This is ironic. Clinton said McSame is more experienced. She stated the obvious and there was a lot of faux outrage from Obamanation over that comment. Obama praised McSame and helped his candidacy. It also undermined our chances of winning if he is the nominee because it kills the argument that McSame is just like Bush. All the rethugs have to do is cite Obama saying they are different!

READING, Pa. - Democrat Barack Obama, who often argues that John McCain is the same as President Bush, said Sunday that the Republican presidential candidate would be better for the country than Bush has been.

"You have a real choice in this election. Either Democrat would be better than John McCain," Obama said to cheers from a rowdy crowd in central Pennsylvania. Then he said: "And all three of us would be better than George Bush."

The comment threatened to undercut Obama's efforts — and those of the entire Democratic Party — to portray the GOP presidential nominee-in-waiting as nothing more than an extension of Bush's unpopular tenure. At the very least, it provided fodder that Republicans can use in the general election to prop up McCain.

5. It was an obvious error... exactly from the same article:
Earlier, Obama renewed his criticism that McCain offers the same "failed" policies of the Bush administration on everything from Iraq to the economy.

"We cannot afford a third George Bush term and that's what John McCain is offering — a third Bush term," Obama said, repeating a line he's said at virtually every campaign stop since McCain wrapped up the GOP nomination last month.

14. BTW
Even though Hillary is pissing me off to no end by her constant helping of our Rethug competitor, I will end up supporting her if she ends up the nominee. As Obama said, either he or Clinton would be a better prez than John McCain.

8. I will say this about McSame...
He has not always been a Bush Clone or wannabe. He was early on, like in the 80s, much more liberal and farless fascist. My Dem buddy here at work said that back in the day, he would have voted for McSame, but not now.

It is clear that McSame has strayed from the path and has been brainwashed with power insanity. That poor bastard is rowing in a boat that is taking in water and fast. Oddly, he is'nt the only one that seems to be under the gun of the GOP, the entire congress is spineless and scared of shrubCo.

Clinto was impeached at warp speed and for nothing, shrub is a murdering lying bastard and they give him a crown...WTF!?

11. So?
My two pet birds would be better than Bush.
Obama's two daughters would be better than Bush.
Chelsea Clinton would be better than Bush.
A 4x8" sheet of wallboard would be better than Bush.
Richard Nixon dug up and hung up on a post would be better than Bush.
Oh, and if Hillary Clinton wants to make a big deal out of this remark, I wonder if she can do it while her lips are so firmly planted on McCain's ass, since she has been praising him constantly since her run against Obama. I only wish she would remember that all of her praise will come back to bite her in her own ass if she manages somehow to steal the nomination - and I use the word "steal" correctly because that is the only way she can win. Funny you never hear Obama say that McCain would make a better prez than Hillary. She constantly goes around saying how chummy she and McSame have been in the Senate. Gee, that's what I, as a Dem, really want to hear, more of that "bipartisan" bullshit that the Rethugs always spout when they are in the minority, and the MSM echoes. So go ahead, Hillary. Scream away. But you'd better damn well make sure you get over 63% of the vote tomorrow, and the same amount in every other remaining primary. And you also better pray that the Obama campaign doesn't decide to go as negative against you as you have against him, especially if he dredges up the gaffes you and BillyBoy have made in the campaign so far. I am not ready to attend the coronation of Queen Hillary just yet.

17. Oh, please.
Bill Clinton has been saying this repeatedly, without even mentioning Obama. He talks about what a great person John McCain is , how civil a contest between two people, John McCain and Hillary Clinton-people who love America- would be, and how John McCain's climate change policies are better than Bush's. Someone posted at the Huffington Post (not sure if it's true, just reporting) that they were there in person and that he just said it as a dig at Bush the person, and then continued right after by saying that McCain would be a continuation of Bush's policies. I'm sorry, I don't really see the big contradiction in this. The faux outrage is palpable. The most important thing is he said that both Democrats would be better than McCain.

18. Anybody would be better than Shrub, except for a Shrub stooge.
So technically he's right. But since he's going to be running against McCain, he shouldn't have said it out loud.

Man, Obama has this thing about saying things out loud that are better left unsaid. That's one of his biggest flaws.

19. McSame would actually be better than Bush, because of his environmental
positions. This doesn't undermine anything about an extension of the Bush term. McSame will continue the economic and foreign policies of Bush, and that is what the top issues of this election will be.

At least he didn't hang Clinton out to dry, like she did to him.

Oh, and her coming out and saying anything about this is just more of the Clinton hypocrisy that makes people dislike her so much.

24. That is irrelevant. A Dem prez candidate should not be undermining Dem efforts against McSame
The difference between this and Clinton's experience comment is that she stated the obvious and changed little. Obama seriously damaged Dem efforts to paint McSame as another Bush and pretty much makes that strategy impossible if he is the nomineee.

23. Obama just hamstrung Dem efforts to brand McCain as another George W. Bush
This actually helps McSame because whenever he is attacked as being another Bush he will cite St. Obama's words. The best way to beat McSame is to paint him, correctly, as offering a third Bush term. Those efforts have been greatly undermined now and if Obama is the nominee will go to shreds.

25. How refreshing. A candidate who actually tells the truth.
Of course McCain would be better than Bush. Who wouldn't be?

But that's no reason to support McCain. Obama is out there everyday explaining why he, not McCain, should be our next president.

26. How many times has St. Obama been busted lying so far?
The actual truth is we just don't know how McSame would perform as president. There is no way to predict presidential performance before they take office. For all we know McSame could be worse than Bush. Certainly no one believed Bush would be vying for the title of "worst president ever" back in 2000 (keep in mind Bush also ran as a bipartisan centrist in 2000)...

Franklin Pierce was a horrible president yet the president after him, James Buchanan, actually wound up being worse than him. It is a mistake to assume McSame is going to be better than Bush.

Shill, are you smoking crack? They could do the same thing with what your "candidate" said: "I will bring a lifetime of experience to the White House. Senator McCain will bring a lifetime of experience to the White House. Senator Obama will bring a speech he gave in 2002."
