I'm going to stop calling them Repukes and switch to Repubs
It isn't the Republican rank-and-file that are evil, it's their leaders and many Repubs are now switching to Democrat.

Calling them Repukes will just lose us some party-switchers at this point, so it would be a good idea to cool off the rhetoric a little.

NEED A BUSHECTOMY? CALL DR. DEAN!

2. Good idea,
lets not alienate some of the our potential voters. I generally refrain from using that anyway, since there are some good ones out there.

3. I like this
Repubs also sounds slightly negative anyway and it would be a good owrd for Democratic talkingheadjobs to start using like the Repubs use "Democrat".

4. good idea
I think the way for us to get a sane, compassionate person in the White House in 2004 is for us to start acting like sane and compassionate people ourselves.

And calling republicans - republicans, and clark supporters - clark supporters, and dean supporters - dean supporters.... is a step in the right direction.

5. Bingo
of course, when I call 'em Repubs I'll say it as RE-pub, to sorta sound like Re-tread.

Hey, they started shortening the party names first!

;)

9. BTW, I wanted to say, it's threads like this that remind me of
the DU of early 2001. Brainstorming to take on the coming shitstorms.

11. Name calling is so Republican
I agree with your choice. I use Repub just to save typing, not as any form of namecalling. It seems wrong for me to do something that I despise them for doing.

Just what feels right for me, everyone else has to figure out what works for them.

13. I agree with your sentiment
and I applaud your effort. I do not see large numbers of republicans in the General Election voting for Dean however.

If he is the nominee, and I am proved wrong nobody will be happier.

17. IMHO, it is best to criticize the Repug **leadership**. Never Republicans
Edited on Sat Jan-03-04 01:39 PM by w4rma
in general. Explain how the leadership of their political party is harming our country and explain how the Democratic leadership and Democratic rank and fine are working together to get these insane folks out of power and change things for the better.

And of course I know that my fellows on DU would NEVER want to push away any potential voter for the Democratic side in the GE.

Would they....?
