Edited on Sun Apr-20-08 10:51 PM by NoBushSpokenHere
Thought we should check to see if there were specific age groups left here in GD:P.

Other?
Older than dirt...when rocks were pebbles and Dinosaurs roamed the earth with Adam and Eve?

10. BTW, your poll should say 20-29 30-39 40-49...
It's awfully confusing to someone, like myself, who is 50 to decide whether I am a young fifty or an old fifty...

11. The way the poll is made up,
If you're 70, you can vote in the 60-70 group, as well as the 70-80 group. Shouldn't it be 60-69, 70-79, 80-up....

I'll be 70 in a few months. Does that mean I stay in the 60-70 group, or do I get moved up to the 70-80 group should another poll be posted?

18. I'm 59
somehow I can't relate to that. It's a 27 year old person who talks inside my head, who makes observations, still marvels at all the miracles in the universe, dances in the kitchen and plays on the floor with the kitty and puppy. I wonder who that person in the mirror is though.....

27. Old enough to know better, and too young to care...
In the words of my generation's poet laureate:

Crimson flames tied through my ears
Rollin' high and mighty traps
Pounced with fire on flaming roads
Using ideas as my maps
"We'll meet on edges, soon," said I
Proud 'neath heated brow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

Half-wracked prejudice leaped forth
"Rip down all hate," I screamed
Lies that life is black and white
Spoke from my skull. I dreamed
Romantic facts of musketeers
Foundationed deep, somehow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

Girls' faces formed the forward path
From phony jealousy
To memorizing politics
Of ancient history
Flung down by corpse evangelists
Unthought of, though, somehow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

A self-ordained professor's tongue
Too serious to fool
Spouted out that liberty
Is just equality in school
"Equality," I spoke the word
As if a wedding vow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

In a soldier's stance, I aimed my hand
At the mongrel dogs who teach
Fearing not that I'd become my enemy
In the instant that I preach
My pathway led by confusion boats
Mutiny from stern to bow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

Yes, my guard stood hard when abstract threats
Too noble to neglect
Deceived me into thinking
I had something to protect
Good and bad, I define these terms
Quite clear, no doubt, somehow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.
