Obama reports $51M to start April; McCain raised $15M
ASHINGTON (AP) — Barack Obama raised $41 million in March and had $42 million available to spend against Democratic rival Hillary Rodham Clinton in April, campaign finance reports filed Sunday show.

Clinton aides said late Sunday she would report raising about $20 million in March and that she had more than $8 million for the primary available at the beginning of April.

Overall, Obama had $51 million in the bank at the end of March, with nearly $9 million of that available only for the general election.

The money positioned Obama to undertake an expensive April campaign in Pennsylvania, where he has outspent Clinton and cut into her lead. Pennsylvania votes on Tuesday.

Obama's fundraising in March led all candidates, but was still lower than the mark he set in February, when he raised more than $55 million. He has raised $235 million in his campaign.

Clinton was expected to file her report with the Federal Election Commission by the midnight deadline.

note 1. : Hmmm it's midnight EST. where ya at Hillary? Inquiring minds want to know?

note 2 : I'd say these figures are another strong feather in Obama's cap as the most competent contender to go up against McSame in the GE. What say you?

3. She's in deep dodo
She is going to get hit hard with this tomorrow. I wonder if "about $20 million" is going to be less - like $19 million. That sounds pretty weak compared to Obama's $41 million. He has $51 million banked and she has 8. Even she's got to see she can't go on after PA without a resounding win. I wonder how much she still is in debt.

5. Is this an odd statement from the Clinton Campaign ....
"The March figures do not include the $2.5 million she raised last week at an Elton John concert in New York. Carson said the event's total sum included money from 6,000 new donors." -snip-

Just the way it's worded bugs me, does he mean that those people that bought a ticket to the concert are 'new donors? Or is that a portion of the 2.5 mil? Anyway .. no duh Carson ... these figures will be reported next month right? And the concert is being questioned as legal by Judicial Watch .... so is there some wording being used here to make it look legal? Maybe it's just me. :)

9. Unfortunately, McCain is just coasting at this point conserving his cash.
We need to get this Dem primary done and on to the GE!

12. He hasover 4 x as much as McCain, and McCain isn't running an active campaign
or spending real money. 4x as much cash on hand, and Obama is outspending his primary opponent like 3 to 1 (on ads).

Obama is a freaking machine, November is going to be a very, very sad month for Republicans.
