Cash on hand amounts (real numbers)
Obama has 51 million cash on hand
9 million reserved for GE
leaves 42 million for primary spendings

he currently owes ~$600,000

close to 41 million in value

Clinton has 31 million cash on hand
23 million reserved for GE
leaves 8 million for primary spendings

she currently owes ~$10,000,000

leaving her at 2 million in debt

plus, she owes herself $5,000,000 and can only pay herself with GE funds because her campaign is already in debt. She needs to win the primary to win $5,000,000

2. Traitor Novak says she owes Penn $10 Million
we haven't heard much from/about Penn lately, but the traitor
said he heard that Clinton owed the monster that much money,
and couldn't ditch him because of it.

4. Maybe when the primaries are overwith
She can keep convincing people to donate to her campaign without her campaign spending any money while she waits for the convention. If she can get 5 million in the green before the convention to pay herself back, she has 'won' $5,000,000. There's a lot of incentive for her to not drop out until the convention, she just is that committed to getting her money back.

6. Bloomberg is saying $10.3 mil in debt.
Edited on Mon Apr-21-08 12:59 AM by gateley
Clinton, a New York senator, had about $8 million in cash and $10.3 million in debt, according to her spokesman, Jay Carson, and a filing with the U.S. Federal Election Commission.

EDIT - or isn't that figure reflective of the "real numbers"? I've never had an aptitude for this type of stuff.

27. Loan Repayments Made
(a) Repayments of loans Made or Guaranteed By Candidate 0.00 0.00 0.00
(b) Other Loans 0.00 0.00 0.00
(c) Total Loans (27(a) + (b)) 0.00 0.00 0.00

I just rounded to the million, except for Obama's debt because it is less than a million.

Edit: There were a few other posting with the numbers way off the mark (by tens of millions). This was simply done to avoid confusion.

8. Joe Sudbay at Americablog backs up your assertion:
The March FEC reports have been posted for the presidential campaigns. Obama's is here. Clinton's is here. McCain's is here.

At the end of February, Clinton's campaign was in the red when her debts and loan to herself were factored in. It appears that at the end of March, her financial situation has worsened. In fact, at the end of March, Hillary Clinton's campaign debts alone exceeded her cash on hand. That's quite stunning for a campaign that was supposed to be built on fundraising prowess.

As of March 31, 2008, Clinton reported cash on hand totaling $31,712,197.67. However, that's not the real number -- a good chunk of that money, over $22 million, can only be spent in the general election. The Associated Press is even reporting that Clinton is in the red:
Clinton reported raising $20 million in March and had $9 million for the primary available at the beginning of April. But she also reported debts of $10.3 million, putting her in the red.
To be exact, the campaign owes debts totaling $10,321,562.87 -- and that doesn't include the $5 million loan she made to the campaign. Mark Penn's firm is owed over $4.5 million.

Further proof that Clinton's fundraisers and donors should have been spending their time raising money instead of attacking Nancy Pelosi and Howard Dean.

Obama raised over $40 million in March -- and had cash-on-hand for the primaries of approximately $42 million.

Meanwhile, John McCain continues to break the campaign finance laws. After Tuesday we can start to focus much more attention on that.
