Hillary: Beyond hypocrisy
On March 3, 2008, Hillary Clinton spoke kindly of John McCain while bashing her Democratic rival. "I think that I have a lifetime of experience that I will bring to the White House. I know Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience to the White House. And Senator Obama has a speech he gave in 2002."

On April 20, 2008, Barack Obama actually spoke kindly of Clinton at the expense of both McCain and George W. Bush. “Either Democrat would be better than John McCain. And all three of us would be better than George Bush.”

Hillary's response? “We need a nominee who will take on John McCain, not cheer on John McCain

This is beyond hypocrisy.

Hillary is being nasty.

2. She's seriously losing her mind
It's hard to figure out what is going on between her ears these days. Desperation looks awful ugly on her. She doesn't seem to handle stress very well.

3. I missed his 2002 speech.
I did catch his 2004 speech, however.

Hillary is beyond repair. She's insane, she's bitter, and she would be a disaster not only for this party, but for the country. I'm just hoping to see her do worse than expected tomorrow and go the fuck away.

5. You know makes you wonder how she was raised - Win at all cost I guess - Her negatives keep going up

Huge Increase in Hillary's Negatives Changing Presidential Race
By Dick Morris and Eileen McGann

There has been a sudden and highly significant shift in the Democratic Presidential race: Hillary Clinton is rapidly losing her frontrunner position to Barack Obama as her negative ratings climb.

According to the Gallup poll, most Americans don't like Hillary Clinton and the number of people who view her negatively has been steadily increasing ever since she announced her candidacy for President in January.

Hillary isn't wearing well. It seems as if the more people see her, the less they like her. Now, for the first time, her low likeability levels are costing her votes, as Democratic party voters are abandoning her to support Barack Obama.

:nopity:

6. She's a viper. Does she even KNOW WHO SHE IS?
Does she wake up to a new face in the mirror EVERY FRIGGIN DAY?

Unbelievable. Just when you think...
Does anyone besides Bill think she even has two wheels on the same track?

You know in her speech the other day, she said George W. Bush has been fighting the RIGHT WAY.
He's just been fighting for the WRONG PEOPLE!

She is a BUSH LOVER! It should be plain as sight but people don't expect the wife of an ex-Democratic president to LOVE BUSH! But, she does. She states that she wishes to emulate him.

And that can be the ONLY excuse she has for her bizarre behavior. Her role model.

11. She and Bill have done more than praise McCain, they emphasize that they are "very close."
Hillary's shame: embracing McCain

Did she expect Obama to say McCain would be worse than Bush?

14. To be fair...
I know it's not a popular thing around here, but let's be fair about the context of the campaigns. The idea is that it might be better to run against McCain as McBush -- as a continuation of the Bush policies, and not a whit better. In that sense, it's perhaps not a good idea to say he's any better.

As for her own remarks, there's certainly understandable criticism for them too, but be clear that they were in the context of arguing for herself as a better candidate against McCain than Obama. Experience is the flip side of being fresh, new, young, etc., and it's what she has to play against Obama.

So, the context was, “I think you'll be able to imagine many things Senator McCain will be able to say." In another case, she said, "People who voted a month ago didn't know who the Republican nominee was going to be. They didn't perhaps factor in that it will be about national security because, indeed, with Senator McCain, that's what it will be about."

Obama managed to counter that argument just fine, saying, "If the only criteria is longevity in Washington, then she's certainly not going to beat John McCain on that." I think he also could have compared his own candidacy with Bill Clinton's against George H.W. Bush, but that's another matter.

15. Thanks, but even with added context...
What Hillary said in March - not only initially, in a CNN interview, but 3 more times over the next day - was meant to damage Obama as a contender against McCain, who by that time was the presumptive GOP candidate.

She may have meant only to position herself as a stronger contender against McCain, but dismissing Obama as someone who can give a nice speech but has a laughable lack of experience was irresponsible in terms of same-party politics. It was more in line with something Romney or Huckabee might have said before dropping out, in the hopes of nabbing a VP spot on the McCain ticket.

That Hillary can say that sort of thing and then slam Obama for far less speaks volumes about her.
