I love sports. Never have I seen someone defile a sporting event with candidate signs |
|
I have seen terrible things at ball games. Fights, injuries, drunkenness, foul language, etc.
But the one thing I have never seen is fans who go to a baseball game with their candidates signs.
Last night I was really stoked that the Mets, with their 5 game win streak were looking to sweep the Phillies in Philadelphia. The game was nationally televised. Two women managed to secure seats perfectly in line with the 3rd base camera so that anytime that camera was on the two women they would hold up the sign. Just a-laughin and a-gigglin. How fricking cute. They just thought they were the coolest cats in the park.
They were allowed to remain there the whole game. I was hoping at some point they would put the signs away.
I know its a minor thing but it really struck me that in this primary season that has turned into a nightmare, my sporting events were a refuge from the constant political BS.
Sports is supposed to be escapism. Keep the damn signs for your front yard.

I prefer my baseball on the radio, so I didn't see any signs.

2. I'd like to see signs of ANY kind banned from stadiums. |
|
I'm tired of inconsiderate assholes blocking the view of others in a lame effort to get 1.5 seconds of TV time. The signs are rarely clever or funny, just an eyesore - and if I'm watching a game on TV I don't want to see any signs at all.
I realize this is off-topic from your post, I'm just seizing this opportunity to rant about something that really, REALLY pisses me off. Screw those signs and everyone who brings them to the park.
