Beyond Pennsylvania, a Weakened Clinton
Hillary like a Hurricane becoming a litle Tropical Storm?

The Trail | Mischaracterizations of trip to Bosnia, turmoil in campaign and husband's missteps have left Clinton with a significant image problem.

By Dan Balz
The polls suggest that Hillary Clinton is headed for victory in Pennsylvania on Tuesday. If that happens, it will add to the string of big states where she has defeated Barack Obama. Depending on the margin, a Clinton victory will raise fresh questions about the Illinois senator's general election prospects.

But Pennsylvania is not Ohio, and the Clinton who is making her final push in the Keystone State is not the candidate who barnstormed through Ohio early last month. No less determined, she is nonetheless a more weakened candidate than she was on the eve of the Ohio and Texas primaries.

This is evident at many levels, from the atmosphere around her traveling entourage, to the financial disadvantage she faces, to the fact that her victory could be discounted unless the margin is even bigger than it was in Ohio.

6. Hillary's problem, aside from having fewer elected pledged delegates...
... is that she's making an argument based on Obama's electability ... when she has even bigger electability issues. Even with all the negative attacks she's orchestrated against Obama, his favorability numbers are in-line with McCain's while Hillary is viewed unfavorably by a majority of voters.

12. If she does not add atleast 10 million to the warchest between now and May the campaign will be weak
The warchest is everything now. If she loses Indiana as well as North Carolina the warchest will bottom out and she will have nothing for the rest of the month.

It is all about money.
