Worst-case contingency plans: what are yours? |
|
Edited on Mon Apr-21-08 03:24 PM by Diamond Dog
If (Clinton/Obama) were to be the nominee, and you didn't support them in the primary, what do you intend to do?
For me, I'll vote for Clinton if through some trickery she should be the presumptive Democratic nominee, but she'll see absolutely no support from me. Not one red cent, not one bead of sweat spilled in campaigning or canvassing for her. She'll be on her own in regards to me.

2. That's my plan exactly. |

I believe the game itself is more harmful than the players. To me, Clinton represents more support for the game than Obama. I'll vote for her, but I can't actively work to support her campaign.

3. Republicans look upon the election of Bush in 2000 as being entirely legitimate. |
|
If Clinton somehow, someway, gets the nomination I am sure that her supporters will look upon it as being just as legitimate. My fear is that millions of young people who are political "virgins" and who have been so excited and motivated by Obama will feel like they have been punked by the system and will leave it in despair and disgust. I also fear that the African-Americans of this country will feel as though they have been betrayed and left with nowhere to go.
If Clinton gets the nomination it will be like having a land where you have burned the bridges, poisoned the water, scorched and salted the earth. It will be hers, but will it be worth having when she was willing to do and say anything to get it?
Yeah, I'd vote for her, but it would be with a sick and sad and empty heart with very little hope. The political bar has been lowered to the point where 2012 will make the WWF look like a MENSA convention.
