She still doesn't have the margins that she needs.

Obama outspent her knowing she would need to respond with the few resources she had left.

He pushed her into insolvency, much the same way as the US outspent the USSR, collapsing their government.

16. If you could tell me when she started working for the presidency
I could try to develop some numbers overall.

How much money and time was invested into her achieving universal name recognition?
It sort of depends on when you say it started.

If you say 1992 or 1997 you get a lot different number than if you say 2007.

Money does not outmuscle the voters in Pennsylvania.

He spent all the money there was room for, and he lost. That's people power over war chest power.

37. But the money Obama raised IS the peoples' money
Hillary has home field advantage in PA - and Obama probably will knock 12-15 points off her lead of 2 months ago even if he losses.

Most of Obama's donors were regular folk giving money in the range of $50-100.

The vast success in this area represents a powerful force that only Obama could take to the GE. The evidence to this effect is so obvious, I'm at a loss why anyone would not see it as a huge advantage.

43. He was not expected to win TX, OH, WI, and PA.
Those were going to be the big Hillary states.

He narrowed the gaps in each of them.

During the streak of 11 for Obama, he generally widened those gaps. It's Hillary who can't close.

44. He was leading in TX, in a dead heat in both OH and PA at various points
Narrowing gaps mean nothing. There are no electoral votes awarded based on gaining ground.

The PA narrowing gap story is a misleading one. He is closer now than he was a month ago or three months ago but he is also where he was two months ago. It depends on what point in time you cherry pick. You could say he gained 15 points in a month or say he lost 1-3 points over 2 months despite flooding the state with money for six weeks...

46. The trends are true but what you and I are saying is not mutually exclusive
He generally does gain but in Texas and Ohio he fell back in the final days and the same thing happened again in Pennsylvania. The voters in either of these three states could coronate Obama. There does seem to be buyer's remorse. By voting for Clinton at the last minute it keeps the race alive.

49. Do you know how many pukes voted for Obama in TX?
I'm sure you heard the Rush strategy.

National polls do not reflect buyers remorse (he is up by 7 in Gallup again today) - but the fickle mood of voters who swing back and forth depending on who says what on any given day.

At least DUers seem to have settled on one candidate or the other by now.

50. Obama won the rethug vote 53-46 in Texas while losing Dems 46-53
National polls don't mean much at this point. The state polls in upcoming states matter. What is clear is folks in two states have had a chance to end this and didn't. Pennsylvania has an opportunity to do the same today and everything suggests they will not do it. Obama is having trouble closing that no past Dem front runner has had except for Mondale. If he is what he is supposed to be he would have sealed the deal by now. It now appears things will drag on to May at least. If she wins Indiana it goes to June since she will win WV and KY at minimum in the other May contests (O is the favorite in Oregon and a near lock in NC).

Notice the stripped state on CNN's who won what state map --- and he already has "sealed the deal" on the pledged delegates. Hillary only wins by a coup - and I repeat myself (so do you).

I give ya credit jackson_dem for righting the fight vastly out numbered on DU; we need folks with your tenacity to support Obama against McSame.

Hope we have it if he is the nominee!

Can you imagine Kerry, Gore, Clinton, or Dukakis choking in the 43rd state to vote? Obama had seven weeks to finish the job in Pennsylvania and all the money in the world, practically all the newspaper endorsements (a good metric for who the MSM supports) and he still lost.
