45. Let me clarify what "negative" means. |
|
Negative means "He's not a Muslim to my knowledge." Negative means "Gee, why can't anyone talk endlessly about his teenage drug use?" Negative means saying "He's cheering on McCain" a month after you yourself endorsed McCain over your Democratic rival and the presumptive nominee.
Hitting your opponent on lying about your record? Talking about their support for a disasterous war? Condemning their dirty politics? That's called substance.

HRC & co thought Obama's "new politics" meant he would stick to positive campaigning. Problem is, "new politics" is a totally different game, not just a different way to play old politics.

6. Negative does not equal smear. |
|
A negative ad means only highlighting your opponents weakness, rather than focusing on your strengths alone. It does not mean smear or slander.
He should go negative. This needs to end.

I am pointing out the distinction. It would be great to make it without any, but I recognize the need. And, I have no problem with negative ads. Smear, whisper campaigns, and fear-mongering I have a problem with.

All I'm saying is stick to the list of negative because of your opponents actions or negative because you made up bullshit?
There is a huge difference.
