Out of curiosity, who here has an undergrad or graduate degree in political science?
I know we're all political junkies, but who actually majored (or is currently majoring) or has a Master's or Doctorate in political science?

18. well
"experts" is theoretical. I would wager that many top notch campaign gurus got there because of street smarts and not necessarily formal academic training.

That probably holds true for many successful pols too. :)

I did a year of post graduate in public administration. I've never made a dime off it but I love what I learned there, so it was worth it.

Most of the folks on DU know more about politics than I learned in school.

65. Me.
My masters degree is in social work (MSW), which if you don't know anything about it, doesn't seem to have anything to do with anything (what? aren't you the guys who take children away?!). In actuality, social work master's has two basic tracks - micro practice, i.e. clinical work, or macro practice i.e. public policy. I am a macro MSW, with focus on public policy ultimately planning on a career as a legislative advocate.

My undergraduate was in Philosophy where I spent a significant amount of time studying political theory. I've also been a campaign manager and political organizer.

I am currently debating whether or not to continue on with a PHD - I have the material for PHD Political Science programs as I write this, and its really just a question of whether or not that level of education is necessary for me feel fulfilled in a career.
