That was a cheap tactic Olbermann used
Interview Clinton, then belittle and challenge her answers with a correspondent, after she leaves. Pretty unfair, in my opinion.

How was it unfair?
If her answers were blatant bullshit, he ought to have called her on it while she was being interviewed. I found it to be rather cowardly, actually.

98. he had a few minutes and several questions. the dame should have
given him more time but she had larry king to go to. Frankly, he did a service illuminating this and allowing her to address what the two idiots of ABC let fly past:

Said Clinton on Good Morning America, "I want the Iranians to know that if I'm the president, we will attack Iran. In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them."

I just recently read that Obama was the "George McGovern of 2008". I've also heard him referred to as the "Lyndon B. Johnson" of 2008.

Which is it? Get your narratives straightened out. If they're so close that they're virtually indistinguishable, you shouldn't have a side in this fight. If they're diametrically opposed, then I have a valid reason to support him against her.

Many interviews are pre-recorded and most have time limits. That doesn't relieve him of the obligation not to be a dick after she leaves. It's just journalistically weak.

Even if he had asked her, he could still question her answers.

Unlike some people we don't need to take Hillarys' answers as the truth lock stock and barrel.

You say he should have questioned her? He gave her the opportunity to answer his questions.

Is him questioning her answers somehow going to change her answer?

Clinton Camp Pushes O-Bomber Links: Ignores Her Own Radical Ties
By: Justin Rood

Feb. 22, 2008—
ABC News - The Hillary Clinton campaign pushed to reporters today stories about Barack Obama and his ties to former members of a radical domestic terrorist group -- but did not note that as president, Clinton's husband pardoned more than a dozen convicted violent radicals, including a member of the same group mentioned in the Obama stories.

"Wonder what the Republicans will do with this issue," mused Clinton spokesman Phil Singer in one e-mail to the media, containing a New York Sun article reporting a $200 contribution from William Ayers, a founding member of the 1970s group Weather Underground, to Obama in 2001.

In a separate e-mail, Singer forwarded an article from the Politico newspaper reporting on a 1995 event at a private home that brought Obama together with Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, another member of the radical group.
-------

Opting to leave any attacks on the issue to the GOP may be wise, as attacks from Clinton could backfire. In his final day in office, President Clinton pardoned another one-time member of the Weather Underground, Susan L. Rosenberg, after she had served 16 years in prison on federal charges.

Rosenberg had been arrested in 1984 while unloading 740 pounds of dynamite, a submachine gun and other weapons from the back of a car.
----------------------------------------
And in 1999, President Clinton also pardoned 16 violent Puerto Rican nationalists responsible for more than 100 bombings of U.S. political and military installations, after they promised to renounce violence. The attacks reportedly killed six people and wounded dozens more. In justifying the pardons, President Clinton noted none of the men had been convicted of crimes that resulted in death or injuries.

53. No, what I mean is that to grant an interview, sometimes a candidate requests
the questions the interviewer wants to ask a head of time.

I didn't see it, so I don't really know how she responded or how KO reacted, etc. I just threw that out there as a possibility.

56. and just as a possibility
I'll throw out that Obama was totally coked up at his last town-hall meeting. I didn't see it, mind you, just saying it's possible.

55. That sounds like the same thing O'Reilly does. Olbermann will
almost certainly continue to attack her about the interview for days just like O'Reilly always does to his guests. It's very cowardly.

81. Keith's the progressive's newsman.
With Hillary being to the right of McCain, she's at an obvious disadvantage when on his show.

59. i was very curious to see how KO would handle the interview
i think that Hillary, if given the choice, would have agreed to have it play the way it did. she got to answer the questions he asked without being challenged - she agreed to go on the show, no doubt because she is trying to reach as many people as possible before the voting starts tomorrow and he did give free reign to her for her responses. she can't have expected fluff questions from him but she must know KO well enough to know that he wasn't going to reverse ABC-debate question her. overall, i think they both did well in what had to have been an environment that was at least a little uncomfortable for both of them.

the point is - do you think Hillary would have preferred to be challenged on the spot rather than having the allotted time for answering the questions/making her points? i didn't see it the way you did, but i watch Keith regularly and i know that the massive retaliation umbrella and the scaiffe thing are troublesome to him. i don't think Hillary will be shocked if she catches the rest of the show. she was not on because she was trying to win him over.

of any face to face, headsup debate....

Presidential debate in Raleigh canceled

RALEIGH — Plans for a Democratic presidential debate here have been scrapped,
state officials announced today.

The cancelation is due to time constraints and logistical issues, according to
a news release from the state Democratic Party.

Some Democratic leaders had expressed concerns that another debate between Sens.
Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama would hurt party unity, the release said.

Clinton had accepted an invitation to participate. Obama’s campaign had said it
was still checking his schedule.

93. KO used to be our messenger.
Now he just goes whichever way the wind blows. I stopped watching him about 3 months ago when he had 4 out of his 5 stories for the night bashing Clinton in one way or another. He is a hack. For the record, I do not care for either of our candidates much. I will vote for the nominee though. I just hate Democrat bashing. She is a United States Senator. She is a Democrat and we should not be bashing her or Obama. I believe it weakens us as a party. If I wanted to watch a show that bashed Democrats, I would turn on Bill O'Reilly. KO has become Bill's equal. I will never watch him again because I can never forget what he has done to Clinton supporters.

94. It was a bad interview.
He asked questions, then let her talk about anything but what the question was about. He didn't follow-up or follow-through. Then AFTER she is done, he then decides to get tough and say what he should have said on air to her after she was gone. She fillibusted, he was in over his head, just a bad interview all the way around. I saw Ann Curry of all people do much tougher (and better) interviews with both candidates this morning. When Ann Curry kicks your sorry ass, you know you're not cut out for the job.

They may even do it at "3 in the morning"- so if Hillary is handed the nom, she may as well get used to it.
