What is Hillary Clinton's plan to win black voters in the general election? |
|
Hillary supporters have for months harped on Barack Obama's troubles with white working class voters as evidence that he is somehow unelectable. It's certainly fair to be concerned about this issue, and once he is nominated, I believe that he needs to center his campaign on economic issues and at least achieving parity with the Republicans among these voters.
But let's say, Hillary supporters, that the party, for whatever reason, decides to give the nomination to her. Early in this process blacks were solidly behind her, but her black support collapsed nationwide during the South Carolina campaign after a series of arrogant and clumsy remarks by her, her husband and their supporters. We can debate whether or not that is a fair characterization, but the fact is that black voters have rejected Hillary Clinton since South Carolina. She claims that she is the better, more electable nominee. I must then ask what is her plan for winning 90% of the black vote AND generating a high turnout of black voters. Democrats do not win elections when these two things do not happen.

2. Doesn't matter...she won't win the Primary anyway. |

All I know is if I were black, I'd never vote for her again EVER. She's a crazy warmonger for Gods sakes.

7. Yeah, I feel bad for the guy. |
|
After all he's been trying to do good for his entire life. Sure he's a little bitter. He lived through some hard experiences and really I can't blame anyone who has been treated badly for being mad.
Its very sad.

10. That's an understatement. |
|
This is only one of the reasons that Hillary is unelectable. What she has done will never be forgotten by a vast majority of both Blacks and Whites. She doesn't realize it yet because she has enveloped herself with a few Black folks who cannot see the forest for the power trees, but will soon figure it out. It the Superdelegates that know this haven't pulled on the other superdelegates coattails, they soon will.

It's Machiavellian. She will run as the only true conservative.
And we at DU will all be saying she is a republican.

11. What is her plan for wining anyone who hasn't supported her |
|
when prominent Democratic leaders like Richardson are called a "Judas" and Kerry is now "dead to her". Does she really think any of those she has thrown under the bus will get out to work and campaign for her??? Seriously I wonder where her head is at.
