I know it's New Zealand, a tiny little country way, way, way down there ... no, a little further ... yup, right there.
But tonight, on the NZ evening news, the top three stories were
1. Junior doctors strike
2. Funeral for the last two of seven young people who died during a rafting trip with their school
3. HRC's misidentification of *current* Prime Minister Helen Clark as the former PM, and comparing her to a cockroach.
Oh well, what's another insult against a country that could be an ally but which, in all honesty, is so anti-American that you wouldn't believe it.
Here's how it's playing in the media:

Why do people in NZ care? Well, for one, they've been on the receiving end of abuse during the Bush administration because of their anti-nuke stance ... but, also, Sir Edmund Hillary is a national hero ... in fact, he is *the* national hero. The whole 'I'm named after Edmund Hillary' story was incredibly insulting to Kiwis.
But, hey, HRC will be ready on day one, right?
