Maybe if we were standing in line at the polls, barefoot, starving,
in the hot sun, for days...maybe we'd calm down and appreciate how fortunate we are to be fat and happy, sitting at our keyboards, pronouncing the winner before the polls close.

It is time for us to realize what we take for granted in this Country because we are losing it fast. It is time for us to realize that in this Republic, this "Democracy", a 50% turnout is a disgrace, not something to crow about.

I hope we won't wait until we are barefoot, starving and waiting in line (gas lines included) to realize what we are about to lose in this Country.

Just some thoughts I'm having on Pa election night.

You are right.
We need to get over the personalities.
We need to think the big picture.
Why are we here?

Did this to us. Last week I stopped to get gas at local convenience store who had a local radio station broadcasting a right wing hate show in the Parking lot.. I called the company and told them that I hoped that this was an over sight ,because It made me mad to be paying $3.50/gal and propagandized in the process and would lead a boycott if this was their policy . Also in my travels today I listened to the most absurd statements ( right out of Fox news)made by people that I've ever heard. The dumbing down of America has been successful! At times I lose hope.:banghead:
