2. I'm sorry -- that's just verbiage
If it's too EARLY to call then it IS too close to call.
I've seen them call races RIGHT after the polls close, if
they're CERTAIN one candidate is going to win. If they
weren't afraid that Obama MIGHT win, then they'd go ahead
and call it for her.

They're trying to soften the blow for the Clinton supporters,
that's all.

I would be vvvasted.

At least they we get the "Insiders"; (Joe?! haha) reaction with an assumed Clinton lead, so Joe doesn't have to backtrack.
