Hillary Clinton is further behind today than she was yesterday
She now has fewer states to make up essentially the same number of delegates and the margins by which she must win the remaining states by has increased, not fallen.

Her victory tonight in terms of actual net pledged delegates will be less than 10.

She failed to gain ground and thus has lost, even though the TV people will tell you she "won."

17. Why is Clinton still losing to Obama?
Edited on Tue Apr-22-08 08:55 PM by SoonerPride
Because her campaign is inept.

She should have won by 25% to a no-name freshman Senator.

Instead, she is losing, despite her minor blip from tonight based upon the 20 years of goodwill built up by her spouse.

What do you think is going to happen in North Carolina with the "popular" vote? And Oregon and other states? There aren't enough states left for her to pull it out. The DNC is not going to allow this to become a mess at the convention.

Did we hear that about HER, when she lost 11 in a row???

She WAS the presumed Grand-Poobah winner of all White Houses..and had been for SEVEN & a HALF YEARS.. Why couldn't SHE close the deal?? an upstart one-termer is kicking her ass from sea to shining sea..

One would expect her to win SOME states, wouldn't one?

MOST years there is ONE candidate by now, but the press looked away and kept giving her cpr..just so they could have something more important to report on than how ghastly McCain is..

3. Denial is only the first stage of grief.
The stages Kubler-Ross identified are:

Denial (this isn't happening to me!)

Anger (why is this happening to me?)

Bargaining (I promise I'll be a better person if...)

Depression (I don't care anymore)

Acceptance (I'm ready for whatever comes)

Hillary is farther away from winning the nomination today than she was yesterday. She picked up a few delegates, but the pool of remaining delegates shrunk drastically. Tonight was a win only in name.

If you think she's still got a shot, I'd advise hurrying along to anger.

59. Why can't he close the deal, why can't he close the deal
Get off that fucking broken record Hillbots!

You're pathetic.

This isn't the fucking WWE!

Do you want to know why he can't close the fucking deal.

Here's why ...

The 42nd President of the United States, and the last Democrat to win the White House, is her fucking husband.

That's it ... period!

If it wasn't for that she wouldn't even be a Senator.

Of course we yearn for those days of yore, but they're not coming back by electing Hillary Clinton.

And Barack Obama is the better candidate.

He's the most Progressive candidate.

He's not the D-L-"fucking"-C!

Even Bill has vastly changed from his days in the White House, but he was there.

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.

That holds a fuckload of weight.

That's it ... that is why Obama hasn't been able to put it away.

But make no fucking mistake ... the fact that Obama has stood not only toe-to-toe w/ Hillary, but is clowning her in states won, pledged delegates, and in the popular vote, despite the fact she's married to Bill and served as the First Lady, is nothing short of off-the-chart spectacular!!!!!!

Add to the factors that he's black and that his father gave him the middle name of Hussein.

Fuckin' A people ... he may come out of the very fucking heart of Appalachia within 10 points of Hillary Clinton.

A black man with the middle name of Hussein running against the closest thing to reelecting Bill Clinton our party can get.

Yeah ... reelecting one of the most popular and successful Democratic presidents since JFK, and Barack Obama, a first term senator from Illinois is beating her.

Why can't he put it away????

You have to be kidding me?

The odds of being her can't be counted up. He is against all odds, but he is here.

He is winning.

Because, he is the man and he will tear fucking John McSame completely apart.

'Nuff said!?!

68. Thx!
It's past the time of being PC here.

I'm not afraid to call her and her supporters out.

She's become slime.

The spin of trying to say this thing is close is ridiculous.

If not for Bill Clinton this thing would be between John Edwards and Barack Obama, and Hillary wouldn't even be in it.

She's a joke.

I'm done with paying homage to the Clintons.

The 90s are over and we're in a huge mess.

I believe in the progressive cause and know that it's the only way we have a chance to right this country.

Peace.

78. How Hillary could win
First the sky would have to open up and light would have to come down, celestial choirs would have to sing, and everyone will know she won and her campaign would be perfect.

Failing that, her chances are between zero and none.

Even in the most loopy, utopian scenario that a Hillarite could dream up (which involves her cleaning Obama's clock in NC and taking every other race by huge numbers), she would need to convince two-thirds of the uncommitted superdelegates to vote for her.
