2. Obama winning a majority of pledged delegates has been inevitable for weeks. |
|
But he doesn't have 2024 of them.
I'll stick around and see how the popular vote turns out.

5. There is really NO such thing as "popular vote" in the primaries |
|
This was a Clinton concept pushed when they were likely to lose the popular vote - even then they are wanting to add in Michigan without giving ANY to Obama - and they are still behind even with that.
Now remember where we started. HRC was inevitable, she had: - Most of the Democratic party in exile in the think tanks - most of whom owe past jobs to being in teh Clinton administration - She was thought the only one able to win the money needed to win SuperTuesday and on top of that, with her name recognition she was the default winner - She had Bill Clinton - a "rock star" - She could claim WJC accomplishments - and force her opponent to attack the last Democratic President.
Now imagine that this were not the US, but a third world country that altered the rules to put the wife of the last leader in power. What would we say. To argue that she is the stronger candidate if with all these advantages, she's still losing

But the fact that a large number of SDs haven't stepped forward and stopped this thing suggests to me that they believe the popular vote and other election variables do exist and do matter.

9. You are pretending - not me |

You don't have a consistent, equivalent process in each state. Do you think that a statistician would add the raw data over various cells without normalizing them to reflect that different methods and different percent participation happened in various stratas? I don't because the result would not reflect the underlying sentiment.
I assume that the SDs have not moved forward because the Clintons have successfully made it seem that it's unfair as some haven't voted yet. Look at the way the Obama campaign is not "throwing the kitchen sink" at HRC - and there are HUGE things in that sink. Why, because to win in November he can't split the party. The Clintons don't care about whether he wins or not. They are hurting the party, but ironically it might be worse if the SD step in and they go ballistic!

18. No. It has been widely reported that the SDs don't want to *appear* as preempting the vote ... |
|
... and so are waiting for the voting to end before committing. Well, the voting to end or Hillary ending or suspending her campaign.
Popular vote exists as a talking point for the Clinton campaign, and they've had some success obfuscating the issue and getting the media to talk about the popular vote, but it is an invalid measure.

Congrats on your win in Pennsylvania, but you didn't win where or by what percentage you needed too.
There's no argument to even make about the big states either, because you can't say Obama won't win them in the GE.
It's over!
