Okay, I have two problems with this:

1. Why would Faux News think that Hillary will do better than their exit polls? What evidence is better than exit polls?

2. If the exit polls were showing a six point Hillary lead, why the hell is she winning by ten?

Discuss.

7. Clinton significantly outperformed the exit polls in Ohio
They felt thatmaybe the same would happen in PA.

10. And why have exit polls -- which were always considered a check on official results --
not meant shit since Kerry was way ahead in the exit polls and then "lost" to Bush?

19. exit polls "always considered a check on official results"? Link?
I don't think so. They were considered a way for news organizations to try to scoop one another.

21. It's what the US gov't used to contest the election fraud in Georgia.
The Georgians overthrew the "elected" President based on the exit poll.

8. They needed her to win by 10 or the Supers might have stepped in and ended it this week.
Now it gets to keep going with both parties spending insane amounts of money on advertising and the "pundits" get to keep blabbing away for at least a couple of more weeks.

15. Exit polls mean NOTHING
Edited on Tue Apr-22-08 10:35 PM by tyedyeto
Don't DUers realize that by now? All exit polls will ALWAYS match the end result, no matter what the polls were at any given time.

17. because exit polls aren't necessarily accurate
They've consistently showed a larger margin for Obama than he actually gets. People lie.

22. But this sampling is used for all kinds of important, life-affecting decisions--
drug testing, epidemiology, crop testing, pesticides, life expectancy, etc.

It's not that hard: you sample every tenth voter. Then you calculate the percentage of the voters in your area to the percentage in other areas.

It's the most accurate check of the official results except for a paper-verified recount.

23. They don't sample
every precinct, they don't know what the turnout will be. Its a useful measurement, it is not an audit and should not be used to question official results in my opinion.
