Does anyone else feel like boycotting the MSM over the incessant spin,
deception, distortion, vacuous, content-free broadcasts that have created the ILLUSION that there is really a contest going on here???

The fate of the very planet hangs in the balance, and they are treating this whole train wreck like it's a playoff game.

:grr:

The ridiculous, vapid commentary is really disheartening.

3. Already did, starting in 2001. I highly recommend it.
If you have cable tv, cancel it. Stick to the internet. You get a lot more balance that way, at least and you can CHOOSE not to watch or read the spin. On tv - spin is all you have to choose from.

4. It's not their job to report news objectively,
it's their job to make a profit. So they're doing what will make the bosses happy -- dragging it out to get more advertising revenue. :grr:

17. It's worse because...
Entertainment Tonight rarely deals with serious issues. This is the damn country's fate that is being treated like a game and a ratings driver rather than simply reporting the facts without speculation (which is what they should be doing).

7. Obama spent 11 mil in ads in PA.
Some bosses are VERY happy. They wouldn't have been seeing any of that money if this were over on super Tuesday. Now some TV guys in IN and NC are going to be very happy.

9. I may not have cable TV, but I actually love the spin
As a thinking person, I like to hear what they have to say and decide for myself which of them are making a good point and which ones are obviously shilling. But I can imagine how people who are more politically apathetic would just get that crap beamed right into their heads and not think twice about swiftboat lies.

10. Don't call it a boycott
Call it recovering our minds. I watched all but the first half hour of the debate the other night, wish I'd skipped it now. Last time before that I had a TV on was briefly to watch the ball drop on New Years and I don't honestly remember the last time before that. I haven't watched much tv now for the last couple of years and one day I just stopped turning it on, wasn't really even a conscious choice.

There's plenty else to do. If you have to watch something there's everything from Miro to video sharing sites, personally I learn more and in a shorter time reading than watching and the blogs (the better ones) often link directly to sources that the news doesn't half cover so we can see for ourselves without the spin.

15. many of us understand that she's lost this nomination and that this was a sham spun for money...
Disgusting! Traditional media knows she can't win and that this race is really over. She's talking about fighting but fighting what?

It was about the pledged delegates and it's still about the pledged delegates. And while Hillary and the media are pushing goal posts there are Clinton supporters who have been deluded into thinking that she can win. She wants to trash Obama and they will let her if it makes money.

Rendell and the machine did their job. Get 10 points. 200,000 votes. But it's over. Anyone who understands this game understands that PA was rigged. Two machine states. Ohio and PA. And the media is feeding victory for her to anyone who will listen. How disingenuous.

18. I've been telling you guys for months, the 4th estate is broken. Even when they appear to back...
your candidate they're still busted. They've failed to ask more than a handful of pertinent questions in some 25 years and counting. They suck!! But you can't say that even here cause it's all, "Well, boo-fucking-hoo they just hate your candidate so grow up!!" But you know what...

MSM still blows chunks :puke: MSM does not sell news to people. They sell people to advertisers. That's the way it is.

19. I realized a long time ago that the political talking heads on TV
can't help but put their actual biases into their commentary. I take everything any of them says with a huge grain of salt. All I can say is I'm very, very thankful for the internet and the wealth of information which is just a click away.

:hi:

He's a bigger part of the degradation of this country than all of the things he decries put together.

28. they are so dumb
They act like the fact that Obama won Maryland in February by 20%+, and the fact that Hillary won PA in April by 9 points means that there's some big shift towards Hillary.

The fact is, Maryland was a state whose makeup favored Obama, and PA is a state whose makeup favored Hillary.

It doesn't matter when the contests were.
