Eyes on the prize, fellow Obama supporters!!! |
|
Congrats to Hillary and her supporters for winning a state she was supposed to win. Where she has family, where most of her core supporters are located. The demographics of PA were perfect for her. This one was inevitable.
But lets look at the bigger picture here. Obama lost this battle, but he did what he had to do in Penn to win the war; which was avoid the blowout and deny Hillary any real momentum in both pledged delegates and in the popular vote. He took a 20 point deficit and turned in to an 8 point loss. Hillary now has to win all of the remaining primaries with at least 70% of the vote just to break even in pledged delegates. The odds of that happening are almost nil. Mission accomplished.
We have two primaries coming up in 2 weeks that are more favorable for Obama. He will likely erase Hillary's gains in the pledged delegate column in North Carolina. Indiana is most likely going to be a draw. I suspect the supers will start to fall Obamas way after May 6. By May 20, the Oregon Primary (also a primary Obama is likely to win big) Obama will have the majority of pledged delegates no matter what happens the rest of the way. Many VERY PROMINENT DEMOCRATS such as Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, said they would not overturn the pledged delegate counts. We will likely see a large amount of undecided Super delegates follow their lead and give Obama the 2024 he needs to win the nomination, all by early June.
Obama will close it out with wins in South Dakota and Montana and this nasty, dirty, campaign will be at an end. At that point it will be up to us to reach out to the Hillary supporters and heal this party. We can only hope that Hillary and Bill will be gracious in defeat and not continue to damage the party even further.
So keep you chin up and your eyes on the prize! Donate what you can tonight and it will be our turn to celebrate in two weeks!!!

The dem leadership was afraid to stand up to the repubs when the repubs had the majority, they are afraid to stand up when we have the majority. The repubs get most of their projects passed when they have the majority, they get most of them passed when we have the majority. They got most of them passed last time we had the Presidency as well. Why are we supposed to believe they've discovered some will to confront issues or to solve problems now? I don't think they remember how to.
Two or three months ago I had high hopes for this year, we had a good chance to not only win the Presidency but maybe even end up with both houses of Congress. Maybe with ALL the cards we would have stopped being afraid of our own shadows. But now? I gave us a 20% chance a couple of weeks ago of winning the Presidency under our strongest candidate, Obama, and nearly no chance if Clinton, the last couple of weeks hasn't improved those odds. We've thrown it all away for gutter politics and misplaced pride because the party is scared of the Clinton's too. Hell, they are afraid of everyone else, why should they be an exception?
This will continue until even a blind man can see it's too late, but of course by then it will be well and truly too late, because nobody has the guts or integrity to stop it.

4. Your OP is right on the mark. Montana is well organized for an Obama win and I think we may put |

Obama over the 2024 he needs to win with the pledged delegates he wins in our state.
How exciting is that?
I'm a volunteer in the campaign and my Obama campaign is going to nominate the next president of the US.
I called a friend the other day (both our kids are in the same cub scout den) and it turns out she's leaning toward Hill, which if fine. She said to give her a call after the primary because she wants to work for the Obama presidential campaign after our primary is over.

the remaining sd's are scared. They don't want to make a decision, so they're going to either wait until all the primary's are done and just back whoever's ahead. Or they'll come out and vote for who won their state/district. Anything to not make a decision.
Good thing is, there's no Rendell in IN or NC.
Without the entrenched PA machine, it would have been a lot closer.
