Clinton did NOT win by double digits in PA, +9.4 or, not a 10 point win w/ 2% outstanding in Philly |
|
Edited on Wed Apr-23-08 07:47 AM by usregimechange
54.7 -45.3 = 9.4 rounds to: 9 http://politics.nytimes.com/election-guide/2008/results/states/PA.htmlPlus votes are left to be counted in Philly (98% in). Results from http://www.electionreturns.state.pa.us/ indicate Clinton won with 8.5%, which also does not round to 10. Please respectfully correct anyone saying that Clinton won by 10.

but the reports don't explain the difference. Maybe there are absentee ballots in the state results that aren't in the press results?
Repetition doesn't make it true.

Quibble about some damned rounding now? :eyes: 9, 9.4, or 10, it is still a clear and convincing victory for Hillary Clinton last night.

Kos is reporting (you'll have to scroll down a bit) that one county's numbers got screwed up on the state's site, and that the AP numbers (used by CNN and others) match the county's own information. http://www.dailykos.com/

24. because losing by 9.3 rather than 9.6 , or 9.8 or 10.1 isn't really significant |
|
The fact that the numbers are being rounded isn't anything new, although some here act like its part of a conspiracy. If you round the individual totals you get 55/45. If you don't round the individual totals you get a 9.3 difference.
We're talking about differences of a few tenths of a percentage point. It looks silly to argue that its signifcant.

42. As I pointed out with Texas... and many other times |
|
the MSM always reports this like its winner take all GE for President for each state. And it isn't. In fact, I could give a rat's ass about the vote totals in the state. What matters is pledged delegates. how many for each candidate. That's all.
So far, I've heard that it's Hillary +9 to Hillary +14. And now there are 158 fewer delegates to fight over.

18. As an Obama leaner IMO this line is simply the beating of a dead horse |
|
Sen Clinton is NOT going to be dropping out over the results of the PA primary.
The result is in the "tween" not small enough or large enough to sway many SD's either way.
So how about we say what is obvious...
Sen Clinton won in PA and gets a few delegates but probably not enough to close the gap by more than 10.

We don't know whether she HAS or has NOT won by double digits because as you've said the results aren't in yet, so everybody including fellow obamains should chill untill they come in, then we can say who was or who as not won by what amount. You also have to concede that they will round the individual numbers in the MSM, not the difference, it's been like that in all of the other states on outlets like CNN, many times to our benifit. It makes us look less confident when we sweat .4 like this, and we have too many advantages in this race to be perceived that way.

22. did you not watch the wall-to-wall coverage on ALL the networks last night?... |
|
she kicked his ass...he can't close the deal...the supers have got to be worried...he is not the fighter, she shows that she is...she was outspent 3, 4, 5, ..1000 (for Joe S.) to ONE and he couldn't beat her...he has no game plan to offset his weaknesses...etc., etc., etc.......
>He closed a f***ing 20+ point deficit to within single digits in 6 weeks
>SHE was the overwhelming 'presumptive' winner of PA the whole time
>She is broke, as if it is Obama's fault that he has OUTRAISED the clintons by huge margins (no discussion of WHY that has happened)...and she can't PUT OBAMA AWAY...
...it WAS a win for Hillary...compared to the status of the race 6 weeks ago, it is a MSM-fueled stretch to call it a BIG win, and slightly amnesiac to portray it as a GOOD win...she was SUPPOSED to WIN...
the MSM want BO & HRC to keep killing each other...it's the ratings, man...it's the ratings...
forget facts...

Because the math is the math, and it catches up with everyone, even hillary and the MSM in the media. As long as their is a mathematical chance (even if it's slim) they will pump it up to improve ratings. But there will be a conclusion to this that everyone will have to either accept, or defect to the other side, hopefully for the democratic party it won't be the latter.

anything to keep this going because it will, in the end, serve their corporate masters. Keep us "little people" at each other's throats.
HRC: Wake-up you dumb a**es! The Clintons" OWN The Democratic Party.
If HRC can't steal the Nomination, she and her operatives will make DAMN sure that a Democrat doesn't win the WH. That's why POWER-player authoritarian personalities (Joe S., Pat B., Sean H., Karl R, Sciafe, R. Limbaugh, Murdoch, etc.) now adore her ... she's cut throat and "takes no prisoners."
The reason that we, The Democrats, will snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory is that WE don't have the guts to stand up to the Clinton/Bush dynasties and say, "NO MORE!"
May God have mercy on our souls if HRC scores the Executive Branch. If it's not 24/7 corruption and/or sex scandals, it will be nuclear war in the M.E. :scared: :nuke: Let's hope and pray for the former?
