I am truly embarrassed this morning, after reading the posts from Obama supporters |
|
I mean, what the fuck? The only salient point that these people can take from last night's results is "OMG IT WASN'T A DOUBLE-DIGIT VICTORY SHE ONLY WON BY 9.38 AND THEY'RE STILL COUNTING!!!"
:puke:
Is there some magical difference in .5 or so percentage points? Does it really lessen Clinton's victory, or ease Obama's loss, if it is closer to 9% than 10%.
Find some dignity, Obama fans. For you own sake.

It was also mentioned on another thread that the FEC can deem these unpaid bills as illegal campaign contributions. Like the $4 million owed to Mark Penn. Hillary is flirting with disaster.

Great Job Hill Dem's, you have managed to keep your candidate in the race. I think it is wonderful that you back someone who says that she will OBLITERATE countries of her choice with nuclear weapons . You must have great faith in her judgment. You are deep thinkers! I hope that some day we can talk about the real issues...her Iraq war, the lack of health care in the US even though she is a seasoned tried and true elected official...still no health care. Get real, if you think that she is for the middle class you are in for a big surprise. Unfortunately you are too blind to see that she fights, acts and votes like the * that she is. We will all suffer for your arrogance. For the record, I have held back on Hill attacks in the past but I am over that now. Hill will be the next ticket to unending war on this planet and I take my gloves off today.

|
Edited on Wed Apr-23-08 08:02 AM by mmonk
by the Clinton campaign because they knew it wouldn't be a real blowout and they need to convince the superdelegates to overturn the pledged delegates. The media wants to trumpet it as well because they want a bloodbath (good for ratings). The hope is to create a false pressure from voters that don't really do the math nor really realize the odds or lack of change in position for their candidate. Any attempt to chip away at this false positive will be taken by many Obama supporters in the know as it may make the media look foolish.

33. It has been the Clinton campaign that has said it is "psychology, not math" |
|
They have to know why we are insisting that it is not "DOUBLE DIGITS". CNN and NPR are both saying she won by double digits, not by 10% which would be the lowest possible result that is genuinely double digits. If the Clintons and their media allies stopped distorting the results to create an unwarranted psychological impact - than we will stop trying to explain basic arithmetic. I know my kids learned rounding in elementary school - so why have most of the media showed they can't do what every elementary student - not left behind - is expected to do. (Maybe this lack of math skills is part of why her campaign is in trouble.)
Why are Clinton people here speaking of double digits and talking about national popular vote in the primaries - where it has NEVER been a metric that anyone ever looked at - and I've followed the primaries since the 1960s.

Edited on Wed Apr-23-08 08:13 AM by TwoSparkles
I'm sorry that you're puking. I'm sorry that you're "truly embarrassed this morning."
It's just incredibly disconcerting to see this slow-grinding charade played out. She can't win. Do you understand that?
Obama will erase the delegates and popular votes that she gained in PA---with his win in South Carolina.
Her victories are hollow, but she continues to perpetuate each win as some kind of, "This is it!! This is my firewall!!! I'm the nominee now!!" Pardon me, if I'm not into spin and if I'm not jazzed about a Dem candidate who is demeaning our entire primary process.
Pardon me, but I'm sick of the bullshit---because it's all in vain. I'm sick of the attacks--because they're all in vain. I'm sick of her spinning--because it's all in vain.
It doesn't matter how smart she is. How many whiskey shots she does. How many times she dipped her toe in Lake Winola. None of it matters--because there's no way she can win the nomination.
She can't win. Do the math. Please--add some numbers, do a little subtracting, maybe some multiplying and you will see. She cannot win. The calculator is your friend.
Everything you see now--with respect to this primary is in vain. He will still have more pledged delegates at the end of the line--and the Supers will not usurp the will of the people. There's no way.
Pardon me--but I'm sick of the delusions that perpetuate the notion that she has a chance--because she has no chance.
So, I guess sometimes...out of frustration, disgust and fatigue---I don't have glowing praise for Hillary--a candidate who wakes up every day and perpetuates illusions that help her --but hurt our party.
I'd keep that puke bucket next to your side, because you'll need it. As long as she continues this charade, Obama supporters like me will continue to speak out about her heartless exercise in futility that is only shredding our Dem nominee and chipping away at our party's chances in the General Election.

35. And for HillFANS to spin this up into some huge "victory" is also "EMBARASSING". |
|
You people are living under the DELUSION that winning by less than 10% when she was ahead by 20+ six weeks ago (up to 30 points ahead in late '07), had MASSIVE (yes, MASSIVE) name recognition, local machine, and demographics advantages going in, is some kind of huge "victory". In fact, you should be asking why Obama was able to cut her lead from six weeks ago in half. She was supposed to win. She was going to win. It was a forgone conclusion. She needed a blowout. Spin away all you want, but she did not get it even though she tried every ploy imaginable. Yes, she won. She did what was already determined. Good for her as far as that. But don't go making more of it than it is. You know the demographics and other factors were HEAVILY in her favor. That's just the reality of it.

|
Edited on Wed Apr-23-08 08:19 AM by TwoSparkles
She can't catch up in delegates.
Do you own a calculator?
You can pick one up at Walgreen's for under $5. . Check into it.
Yes, she did "win" PA--that's nice. It's a nice win, but in the end--she won't be the nominee, so I'm unclear on what all of you are celebrating.
She "won"--but she can't catch up in the delegate count, and that's the only thing that matters.
Obama's upcoming win in Carolina will erase the delegates and popular votes she gained in PA. This will go back and forth until the end--and she knows it.
And we get to listen to her pontificating for several more weeks--while our nominee is being bloodied and our party is further torn apart.
So, ok fine---she "won', but in the end--she loses. Guess what? It doesn't matter.
Do the math.

Some states favor Clinton. Some states favor Obama.
Your logic is flawed.
Winning ONE state does not define the other candidate as "the weaker candidate." Both candidates are strong, intelligent and they each have a great deal offer. If you are not a hypocrite, you will apply your logic when Obama wins in double digits in Carolina, in two weeks.
After all...losing a state means that the other candidate must drop out, right?
Your absurdity is limitless.
The bottom line is....who will have the most pledged delegates in the end. That is how our party selects it's nominee.

The goalpost can be put wherever seems most appropriate at the time, and moved tomorrow and again the next day. The important thing for Hillary is to go the distance. To harken back to her Rocky comparison, she knows she can't win, but she wants to prove she can duke it out to the end.
