Barack Obama Scared of Another Debate

After his fall-on-his-face performance at the last debate, you can’t really blame Barack Obama for ducking out of the next scheduled debate in North Carolina.

But you can still fault him for it.

It’s being spun as, “time constraints and logistical issues.”

But the real and obvious reason is that Barry is afraid to answer difficult questions. The man has a lot of explaining to do about his relationships with some very unsavory characters.

But the man who early in his campaign said that his campaign was about his superior judgment (in lieu of almost no real experience), suddenly won’t answer any questions where his judgment was seriously lacking.

He talks about judgements before making decisions the effect the world...well, I say ANSWER THE F*CKING QUESTIONS ALREADY Barack Obama!

We have a word for that here in Texas, Barry — cowardice.

Even GE's typically have 3 at most
plus the majority of people have voted in this race and it is effectively over. If you don't know their positions by now you never will.

There's nothing to gain from another debate other than free air-time and attack opportunities for a Candidate that has already lost.

I know that many like you want to make this a big issue. It really isn't. The ABC debate was terrible.

I would have said the same thing if most of those gotcha questions were directed towards Hillary. I wish we could get out of this WWE mentality and discuss issues that are important to this country.

...cause I'm sure the educated voter REALLY wants to know why a man who wants to be leader of the free world doesn't wear a 99-cent piece of tin made in Taiwan to prove to the right wing that he loves America. :eyes:

Of course, what gets lost in all this is why Hillary's never been seen with a flag pin.

Or even a flag scarf.

Hell, I don't even remember seeing her wear a navy blue pant suit with red and white accessories. That un-American wench!

But wait, that narrative would be trivial, wouldn't it? Never mind. :sarcasm:

Enough of the "your former minister said..." or "where is your China-made flag pendent..." questions.

Let's get some union folks to ask Hillary why she supported NAFTA since 1993 and why she voted for the China MFN free trade bills.

Hillary Clinton IS BROKE. The only way she can get free publicity is to have the 23rd debate this season. That's more than ANY other primary season in American History.

Though I'd have some wonderful questions for Hillary...like...oh, what does she think about the endorsements of Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter..? Why hasn't she ever mentioned the gay community in any speech before a greater audience? Was she thrilled with Schiafe's newspaper endorsement, even though he went after the Clintons in the 90's? How will she manage such high negatives among the general voting population?

And oh yeah. . .what does she have against the American flag? I'm not questioning her patriotism, but why wasn't she wearing a lapel pin?

105. a terrorist is
someone who threatens (i.e. obliterating Iran) or actually kills innocents on purpose. No one was killed by Weather Underground bombs fyi. You should get your facts straight before you shit out of your mouth. If you are going to use Ayers then do some research & come back when you have a clue. You bought into the Hannity crap & it is truly sad. It is a shame that so few people at DU actually develop an independent thought. Everyone seems to be content to parrot whatever the Hannity planted talking point of the day is.

When you put wimps in power they blow shit up to prove they are strong (i.e. Bush). That is what Hillary will do. It is exactly why she votes the way she does, to prove she's tough. People that are actually tough don't do any of that because they have nothing to prove.

I'll even help a little & show you that your knee jerk republican reaction & tough guy chest thumping make you look stupid & this is article doesn't go as far as some do. Ayers was fairly harmless then & definitely is reformed now. You Hillary folks take the republican stance on criminals, that there is no such thing as rehabilitation. & by the way Bill Clinton pardoned members of the Weather Underground & remember how involved Hillary was in his presidency.

122. It's not a suitable question for the debate format, because Hillary would
then have respond about her relations with Ayer. Of course, she has none. (It's a non-issue to me, anyway.) Debate questions should be on the issues, the economy, the war, health insurance etc., and conducted in a strict, formal manner.

Hillary will win 80% of all remaining delegates. Why would the winner debate the loser after the race has been decided? You don't see McCain debating Romney.

Otherwise, after that sorry hatchet job on ABC last week, no fucking way!!!

Only if the debate questions are serious, substantial ones, questions about the serious issues facing this country. Obama would win that one in a walk!! I don't trust the MSM to run an unbiased debate after that debacle last week!!

On edit: Here's a great idea!! If the debates are going to be the same dreck we witnessed last week on ABC, may I offer a suggestion?? Let the "E" channel moderate them or let's get some "journalists" from "Entertainment Tonight", "Inside Edition" or even get some print journalists from the "National Enquirer" or the "Weekly World News" to lob questions at the candidates. Put these debates in the forums they belong in. At least this would be much more intellectually honest then the MSM networks posing as "honest and unbiased journalists"!!!

74. Of course its not in his interests to debate more. But as just a voter, I say we've had like THIRTY
debates already - more than ever before. I can't stand to watch another one. It's just one more example of how media-hyped this whole process is. I can't believe we've been going through this for a year. You know, if the entire nomination process had been six months, it would have favored Clinton, because it took Obama time to build support. But I don't care - I wish the process wasn't so ridiculously long. There is nothing left to say in a debate other than "Gotcha" bullshit. I hate this part of politics so much. I'm starting to just tune out.

84. Oh please..
scared? That was no debate.. it was an ambush, and everybody knows it. And do you seriously believe Senator Clinton doesn't have her own share of "shady" characters that he could've brought up if he wanted to? All the guilt by association garbage is just that, garbage. She couldn't help but get that jab in there about his church praising Farrakhan, and oops, looks like her tip-top surrogate did the EXACT same thing. Guess they didn't know there would be video about that either.

Does Hillary hate America because she doesn't wear a flag pin? Of course not. See those aren't real questions people care about. It's tabloid t.v. why would you be encouraging that. As much as you might want your candidate to win, why on earth would you think this was a positive for Senator Clinton? Suppose she is the nominee. Suppose she is in a debate with McCain. Suppose the "moderators" bring up her shady characters, maybe her husband's connections to the Columbian government, for example. Do you think that will be fair? Would it be fair to hold her accountable for the actions and words of everyone she's ever known, or even met just once or twice? Would you be equally upset if they bring up the fact as a young attorney she defended communists and "scary" black panthers, in nothing more than an effort to smear her character?

Of course not. You wouldn't like it one bit. You wouldn't think it were fair. Because it wouldn't be.

All of that said, how many freakin' debates do we really need?? 52? 78? When will it be enough. And if she needs free air time, I suggest instead of trying to taunt him like some schoolyard bully like it's kindergarten, how about raising some money for her so she can buy her time just like everybody else.

95. This OP is total and absolute horse-hockey..
Who was it who was rendered speechless in the last debate over her nonsense about the Weather Underground. When Obama pointed out that her husband had pardoned two members of the WU, she had absolutely nothing to return with except a relieved, "I'll wait until after the commercial" -- the one Charlie Gibson most conveniently offered to go to after she'd just had her tukus handed to her -- and she never did return to the subject.

And by the way, the utter lack of respect of the Op in the callout to "be a man" and in calling Sen. Barack Obama "Barry" tells me more than anything else about why this OP is supporting Clinton over Obama.

99. Obama Now Hiding from the Press
Obama Now Hiding from the Press
Ed Lasky

Barack Obama has glorified the role of words in moving history. He has relied on his oratory to propel his campaign. He has also advocated transparency and openness. Indeed he has made the public part of his campaign (Yes We Can).

Nevertheless, in the wake of a series of embarrassing media performances -- highlighted by his fumbling responses during last weeks debate with Hillary Clinton, he has now gone into hiding, avoiding the press and the pressing questions journalists may ask about his associates and his plans.

He fumbled the Charlie Gibson question regarding capital gains tax rates and showed himself to be out of his depth when handling policy questions without his handlers. This avoidance of the press is clear. He has not made himself availabe for questions from the press for 10 days now and the number looks to go higher

When asked about the endorsement by the Hamas terror group, he had a snippety answer, "Why can't I just eat my waffle" which echoes his behavior when confronted with questions about his ties to Tony Rezko, now on trial in Federal Court in Chicago. He avoided answering those questiosn and then stalked off from a press conference whining to the reporters "C'mon guys. I answered 8 questions."

Now comes news that he will not participate in a debate with Hillary Clitnon before the North Carolina primary. This refusal to answer questions from the press puts on display once again that Barack Obama tends to lose his appeal when he is without his teleprompter (see "Obama Unplugged" by Dean Barnett) and when he is not in front an adoring audience or a fawning press.

If he cannot handle the press and answer their questions-the man who thinks words are so important-how will he handle the world's tyrants?

Is he really ready to assume the Presidency? NO!

Unfortunately, that ship has sailed. There will be no more debates because of what ABC did.

There's no point talking about who is bitter and who is not bitter. There's no point talking about who is wearing a flag pin made in China and who is not. There's no point talking about neighbors and pastors.

We've got a country to save and discussing these issues in a debate does us no good. Don't blame Obama, blame ABC.
