ABC News calls out Clinton Camp for misrepresenting their report regarding the popular vote

http://facts.hillaryhub.com/archive/?id=7265

More People Have Voted For Hillary Than Any Other Candidate

4/23/2008 9:34:22 AM

The Tide is Turning

After last night's decisive victory in Pennsylvania, more people have voted for Hillary than any other candidate, including Sen. Obama.

Estimates vary slightly, but according to Real Clear Politics, Hillary has received 15,095,663 votes to Sen. Obama's 14,973,720, a margin of more than 120,000 votes. ABC News reported this morning that "Clinton has pulled ahead of Obama" in the popular vote.

This count includes certified vote totals in Florida and Michigan.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/04/clinton-camp-mi.html

In today's edition of "The Note," ABC News' Rick Klein wrote that "By one (rightly disputed) metric -- the popular vote, including Florida and Michigan -- Clinton has pulled ahead of Obama. But without the rogue states, Obama is still up by 500,000 -- and if you can find another objective measurement by which she’s in the lead, let us know."

Including the popular votes from Florida and Michigan -- which were not sanctioned Democratic National Committee primaries, where the candidates did not compete, where Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois was not even on the ballot in Michigan -- is a sketchy notion, and Rick was conveying that with the proper air of skepticism.

Somehow, the Clinton campaign took his report and twisted it into this: "ABC News reported this morning that 'Clinton has pulled ahead of Obama' in the popular vote."

That is a false reflection of what ABC News reported.

5. The Clinton campaign has almost NO integrity. And that's become my issue with Clinton.
She will say ANYTHING to win.

Including "We can obliterate you, Iran!!!"

I told that quote to a Hillary supporter last night and he was horrified. His one owrd reaction? "Desperate."

Just because the DNC thinks it is okay to disenfranchise two major states doesn't mean HC must agree with them.

Obama and his supporters have a habit of voting "present" when confronted with tough issues. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/21/us/politics/21delegates.html?_r=1&pagewanted=print&oref=slogin "Ms. Granholm said a plan to conduct a state-run primary financed with private money was the fairest way to resolve the situation. Several wealthy Clinton donors offered to pay the estimated $12 million cost of the revote, but Mr. Obama’s allies in the Legislature blocked it for a variety of legal, technical and political reasons."

go, there was nothing illegal about voters in Florida or Michigan voting.

Alot of SD's in my state, which went for Obama, have pledged to HRC and plan to keep their pledge.

There is no sense in having SD's if they just mimic the pledged delegates.

We are a caucus state that has broken 70% for Obama. I know I'm a Obama alterate delegate to the State Convention. Hillary won the beauty "popular" vote here. However, everyone who voted knew it didn't count. I even voted for Edwards in it because I was an Edwards supporter before I switched to Obama.

I wouldn't trust Clinton figures.

does Obama get any of the uncommitted vote or does he get 0% because he wasn't on the ballot?

If HC wants to add to her numbers but not include any for him how would that be any less disenfranchisement.

Remember when they didn't want PA to vote? They don't want FL and MI to be counted. Anything to help their candidate win. Cheat so he can win. Quit voting and don't count the vote are their memes. If you don't seat Mi and FL those states will go Republican in the GE. And with those states Hillary is up above Obama. The truth hurts sometimes.

In Michigan Obama supporters voted "uncommitted", which got 40% of the vote, so there was recourse for Obama supporters there. Conyers and other Obama surrogates were in fact encouraging Obama supporters to vote uncommitted.

My state didn't break the rules and I don't think those 2 states should get the same rights as those that follwed the DNC rules. Yes some republicans did it in one of the states, not the other blah blah...They knew it they did it anyway. I didn't hear anyone from FL or MI yelling and screaming when this happened nor when Hillary was video taped saying they wouldn't count.
