3. It started off with Clinton supporters flat-out lying, and saying they took in $10 million....
.... At least they're to the half-truth area now. Maybe one day they'll be interested in ALL of the truth. I'm not holding my breath though.

That now they are saying the "expect" to make around 10 million in the coming days. For some reason honest just doesn't seem to be a part of the Clinton camp!

16. Enron Accounting
They *think* they will be *able* to raise 10mm.

Just like Enron marked-to-market future *expected* profits as if the money had already been made.

She will go down in flames on this just like they did.

Lying sack.

21. It doesn't mean anything unless she breaks it down.
If she gets $10 million in 24 hours from individual donations, that's truly impressive. But for all we know, she'll get $100K in individual donations, loan her campaign another $9.9 million, and claim she raised $10 million. Since she and Bill Clinton are worth over $100 million, either scenario is possible.

17. At a certain point, unpaid debt equals illegal contribution
Edited on Wed Apr-23-08 07:56 PM by C_U_L8R
Hillary has been floating her debt..
like the $4 million she owes Mark Penn,
and the FEC will be coming down soon if she doesn't start paying her bills.
What she's doing isn't legal.

19. Which is what I was saying when she at one point had IOUs for $500,000
to her health insurance companies' monthly premiums (Aetna and BCBS)---nice way to indirectly take money from the health care industry, just get away with not paying the monthly premiums.

I see she chose to pay them this time around. But only after bunches of Internet articles/blogs starting reporting about the hypocrisy of a candidate insisting that her plan would mandate premiums to be taken out of people's paychecks and yet being behind in premium payments herself!

28. One reason I don't think she can make it to the next FEC report.
I would guess she is taking her last opportunity to raise funds and straighten out debts, and then will be out.

Look to see how hard she really campaigns in the next two weeks - is she going all out, as she must if she still really plans on winning, or is she conserving funds and shutting down expenses, as she must to close down the losing campaign in anything other than fiscal disgrace?

18. That doesn't even cover by a third her debt
she's going to have to probably bring in 20 million to pay her debt plus interest and have anything left for campaign.

29. It's worse than that. They are trumpeting that they have brought in
$10M in the 24 hours since the PA primary. But this article puts the lie to it:

http://www.techpresident.com/blog/entry/24473/show_us_some_real_money_hillary

"An email from Terry McAuliffe, Clinton campaign chairman, that I received three hours ago, says "More than 50,000 people have contributed to the campaign for the very first time in the last 24 hours alone." If 80% of Clinton's donations are from new givers, that implies a total number of about 60,000 donations. If we're very generous and assume an average donation of $100, which is high for first-time donors, that gives Clinton a current take of at most $6 million."

I think it's possible that she's gotten $10M, but no one has asked the pertinent question...how much of that is primary money?

I don't believe a damn thing that campaign says, and this is the reason that having her as the nominee is so unacceptable.

30. 10:00 EST: Hillary on all the morning shows saying they raised 3 million. 1:00 EST McAuliffe
tells Ed Schultz they raised $ 10 million. What's going on here?

Check out the video of Clinton @ 4:50. She says they raised 3 million overnight.
