Rep. Brady (Penn.) sort of endorses Obama
This guy runs the Philadelphia Democratic Party, so his possible endorsement should not be taken lightly.

Pennsylvania Rep. Robert A. Brady all but endorsed Illinois Sen. Barack Obama in the Democratic presidential primary Wednesday, a day after Obama handily won Brady’s Philadelphia district.

Brady, who is chairman of the Democratic Party in Philadelphia County, indicated the only question surrounding his impeding endorsement of Obama is the timing.

“I’m not going against my district,” Brady told CQ Politics on Wednesday. “I haven’t made a decision about when and where.”

1. The SDs continue to trickle into Obama's camp. After Hillary's 'blow-out' win she only gained 1
SD compared to Obama's 2.

7. I'm sure he's known all along that his district would go for Obama.
Brady is a seasoned politician and I wouldn't have expected him to go for Clinton, but with Rendell and Nutter endorsing her he had to play it carefully. (I still don't get Nutter's problem. I just don't. Unless he felt he had to kiss Fast Eddie's butt.)

3. Why didn't he do this before the primary??
He may have countered Rendell and Nutter's pull.

6. I dont thin Nutter had any pull. Obama did very well in the city, winning 65% of the vote.

9. Actually I think, from people I talked to, that Nutter did have influence.
Nutter has had a good start as mayor and is seen as a breath of fresh air, maybe even a "savior" from the debacle that was the prior mayor's administration. I talked to a couple people who cited Nutter's endorsement as a factor in their positive view of Hillary.

11. With Obama winning over 90 percent of the black vote, I dont think Nutter helped that much.

14. The people I talked to are white.
One of them I know well enough to know that Obama's race wasn't an issue. He did come back several times to the point that Nutter was supporting Clinton and he respected Nutter's opinion.

The other people I talked to were at a Dem dinner where Nutter spoke. I don't think race was an issue for them, either.

10. You're right. I guess I listened to too many talking heads
Obama did well in the city of Pgh. too :-). And here in my little rural precinct it was Clinton 22 votes and Obama 21 votes. I thought that was excellent and hoped it would carry out in other rural communities.

18. The timing is being orchestrated by the Obama team
Look for one or two a day for the next two weeks leading to IN and NC. By the time we get to IN/NC, Obama will have extended his delegate lead beyond where it was going into PA.

That's got to really such for Clinton. Every time she wins, she loses ground.

I loved her comment just played on The Daily Show. "If we were doing this by the Republican rules, I would already be the nominee."

Just about everybody here can guess Stewart's punch line. Talk about dealing up a softball.

Altmire has been making rumblings as well, but is being challenged by the (R) he beat in 2006 so keeping his hand close to the vest.
