The Best Kind of Asskicking Is When The Loser Thinks He Won |
|
That's what happened to Hillary last night.
What Obama did yesterday in Pennsylvania was phenomenal. Nobody wants to admit it.
The game from the getgo was delegates. He kicked ass in Pa. They're playing checkers and he's playing chess.
Years from now when they write about it, they will admit how brilliant this campaign has been.

Hillary had to work herself ragged, and break her bank just to eke out a win in a state that by all accounts should have been a glide for her. She had to pull out all the stops, do things that revealed a very unpleasant side to her character and judgment because she knew if she didn't she'd lose and lose big. He basically broke the back of her campaign... and she won't even fully realize it for another couple of weeks at least.
I used to worry about this race, but now I am just sitting back and watching things unfold. Obama is a big boy and he's ready for the big leagues. He's gonna win and the strategy will only be fully evident in hindsight.

I LOVE when that happens. Of course it's usaually preceeded by a few punishing jabs, say like Pennsylvania.

At least yesterday there was still, dare I say it, "hope".
By closing the gap, the shut the door. He didn't have to win.

... from the OH/TX coverage that showed how the Obama campaign had pretty much predicted all the results up to that point? I'm wondering what it had said about PA.

Interesting how it's pretty much gone the way the Obama campaign has predicted in the beginning, plus or minus a few percentage points. A 50 State Strategy, not conceding any but aware of the impossibility in winning them *all*.

29. When you were down by 25 a month earlier... |
|
You go through the toughest 6 weeks of the campaign regarding the media, McCain & Clinton all coming after you no-holds barred, and you still only lose 12 delegates that you will more then make up for in North Carolina a couple of weeks later.
Yeah.. i'd say that's not too bad!

She got a field goal. Her diehard fans cheered ... but the more rational are leaving the stadium.
It's just that simple.
Two minute warning! Obama's got the ball. What do YOU think the line is in Las Vegas at THIS point? Place your bet.

... as Obama's campaign appears to have done. They knew the win would be hard-fought, but things have pretty much gone according to strategy, plus or minus percentage points here and there. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=5657782&mesg_id=5661528
