Hillary admiting to defeat and, demanding VP ticket?
Carl Bernstein was just on CNN 360 with Anderson Cooper, he mentioned that he spoke to a counselor to Hillary Clinton camp, they admitted that it's a longshot for them to win this election. The odds are they are not going to win it. He is saying it is possible that she can DEMAND to be put on the ticket as VP, and they feel Obama would HAVE to give it to her. This person is saying they know her and this is very feasible.

8. I'd have serious concerns of her sabotaging the GE in that Scenario.
Controlling Bill's loud mouth & finger wagging, and controlling her as VP.

She couldn't care less about the average American struggling to make ends meet; it's all about her Rovian-like desire for power. Then she has the nerve to try and paint Obama as the elitest. Give me an 'effin break!

Okay, I'm off my soap box. I feel better now.

94. She'd be a loose cannon in the campaign and in the white house
Obama would have no control over his own VP and that would be a disaster and undermine his GE bid and presidency, if he got that far.

He needs someone who'd be unquestionably loyal to him. HRC has no loyalty to anyone but herself.

140. No, HRC and BO are very similar policy-wise.
Lieberman was chosen in an ill-considered attempt to broaden Gore's appeal.

Obama supporters: if your guy wins, when he selects a runningmate, your correct response is "Yay! That's the best choice ever!" Get on the damn bus.

I love Edwards, but watching this primary makes me wish that HRC was Kerry's runningmate in 2004. "Quit? Are you fucking nuts?" She would have kneecapped those swiftboat assholes.

I'm so appalled at her treachery that I can't even want her in charge of a great new post like Women's Affairs. About the only post I'd support right now is counting the Iraqi War Dead and yes, I am that bitter. She thought she could laugh this off.

It infuriates me, as a woman, that there's no solidarity between us because I'd be so happy if there were.

52. This is just biased media spin to convince people that Hillary is no longer
in a position to win and that--supposedly--even she says so. They are trying to carry Obama piggy back across the finish line. The best part of this stunt is that Hillary can't deny it by saying that she isn't looking to be VP because that looks disrespectful to Obama.

I doubt that Hillary would want to be Obama's vice-president, she has a good job in the Senate. And although the Hillary haters here at DU may like to pretend that she is vulnerable in 2012 there is no real evidence to support that other then their own hatred causing them to see what isn't there.

I do think Obama might have to pick Wes Clark in order to reach out, though. There would need to be some sort of blatant and tranpsarent nod to the Clintons, and that's probably as good as he could do (I guess he could pick Sen. Pryor of Arkansas). But this notion that Obama people have that Hillary and Bill are nothing and Obama will get her voters, or easily replace them with others, is simple folly. He has a serious problem and there is more of a need to reach out then he (or his supporters) would like to admit.

Steve

neogotiate a strategy and lets get this show on the road. we got work to do. Obama is a reasonable man if you go to dinner discuss a sensible strategy and let's get moving quick for the lvoe of god and the planet. Your both very strong willed so divide the presidency between you, at the veryleast it can regain your reputation if you show greace to one antother. I say this in the hope that the campaignread the board.

People don't trust her. If he wins and she gets on the ticket and people won't trust the DNC. They will lose even more votes than her going back to the senate.
If he is nominee he should be allowed to pick his VP and cabinet the same way every other nominee / president has done.

I won't vote for a combined ticket.

First Hillary has this aura of "this was supposed to be mine" and now it's "well you have to have me as VP" ....Barack, Howard Dean and all the other Progressive Democrats should walk right up to her face, smile and simply say "No....you get nothing".

The fight is over, the Democratic Party has finally come home to it's progressive roots. The DLC can now be shoved back into the closet from whence they came.

We are back.
