Indiana: He spoke to a rally of 7000 supporters and took NO questions afterward
No, it wasn't one of those closed and calculated Bush events. But it does beg the question -- why does Obama, like Bush, not take any questions after a campaign event?

A old familiar pattern is emerging -- another presidential wanna-be:
-- unwilling to take questions from the crowd,
-- unwillinging to particpate in debates,
-- unwilling to take reporters questions ( )

His higness' latest crowd unppleaser:

http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-na-obama23apr23,1,7095215.story
EVANSVILLE, IND. -- Another chance to knock his opponent out of the race crumbled Tuesday night, and Sen. Barack Obama could scarcely mask his frustration that the long Democratic contest will stretch into at least next month.

Obama's campaign plane left Pennsylvania airspace just as the polls were closing, bound for the next crucial contest in the nomination season: Indiana. While his rival, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, savored her victory at a nighttime celebration in Philadelphia, Obama touched down here and headed immediately to a rally, where he was met by more than 7,000 supporters in a basketball arena.

At the rally, Obama pointed to some bright spots in an otherwise losing effort. He mentioned that when the Pennsylvania contest began, he was trailing by a much larger margin than the final result indicated.

"We closed the gap," Obama said. "We rallied people of every race and age and background to the cause."

Still, the Illinois senator's disappointment was obvious. He hustled through his speech and took no questions afterward. There was little of the emotion that typically inflects Obama's oratory.

The crowd seemed equally subdued. A warmup by singer John Mellencamp was politely received.

3. From my own observations, Town Halls welcome questions afterwards
and are alloted plenty of time after his speech to answer questions. Some from pretty savvy kids too! Rallies, not so much.

Political videos and youtube show this over and over and over again.

8. I attended an Obama town hall meeting in PA, and he spent an hour taking random questions
from the crowd. Town hall meetings are much more conducive to this format.

5. How does one take questions at a rally of 7000 people?
Has Hillary ever had an audience of 7000 people?

6. He takes questions at TOWN HALLS.
Since you seem ignorant of the difference between a rally and a town hall, politicians normally don't take questions at a rally because it's a larger venue.

Obama has been doing town halls all over the place. He takes questions there because they are smaller venues.

When Obama gives rally speeches he doesn't take questions. He takes them at town hall meetings. This has been going on for a year now, why haven't you been paying attention?

Of course a speech after a loss will be a little subdued. At least he congratulated Clinton in front of that 7k crowd, something she refuses to do when Obama wins.

and signed every autograph request. It took him nearly 1 hour. I don't suspect Senator Obama always has this time available, anymore than Senator Clinton has the ability to answer questions after EVERY event.

15. There were over 12,000 people there and they were more than subdued.
Roberts Stadium seats 12,000 and it was over capacity. The seats were full, except for a small sliver behind the stage and it was standing room only with the floor crammed to capacity. My brother said he has never seen so many people there before. Including sold out basketball games and concerts. His voice was horse as was my mothers. They both estimated that at least 14,000 people were there.

I guess the LA reporter gets his information from the TV. This description defies the reports of people actually there.

Sounds like Mr. Nicholas is a little miffed because the Senator didn't take the time to schmooze with the press.

I watched the Indiana rally. It wasn't hurried. Granted, it was subdued but Obama sure as hell wasn't "masking his frustration".

I mean , seriously? WHy should he take questions? He is the annointed, don't you see? What he says IS. Why should he open himself up to more questiosn about why his spiritual leader calls for God to "damn America"? Why should he open himself up to why he is friends with an unapologetic terrorist who bombed the Pentagon when Oh-bah-ma! was 8 years old? Why should he open himself up to why he made a bajillion dollars with his buddy Resko?

No....Oh-BAH-ma doesn't need to answer any questions. He is the One.

33. You're clearly a Clinton supporter
You make less than 50K without a college degree. You don't have the critical thinking skills to work yourself out of a paper bag.

I don't care if you vote for him in November or not. Math doesn't lie even if you don't understand it. Hillary won't be the nominee.

I look forward to your meltdown.

21. Tired, most likely, disappointed that the BS will continue
I saw this, and he didn't "hustle" through his speech, nor was the crowd subdued. They were enthusiastic, and I thought the speech was very good.

How many questions should he take from 7000 people late at night? That isn't a "town hall" crowd.
