"O Bummer" Pittsburgh Post-Gazette editorial April 24:
<clip>
"At the end of the Pennsylvania campaign, both sides were trading blows as if their opponent were a Republican, but Mrs. Clinton stooped lower, even genuflecting to Karl Rove's politics of fear with an ad that summoned the bogeyman, Osama bin Laden, to make her case."

1. Excellent editorial.
I wish everyone would realize though, that the state of PA was tailor-made demographically for Hillary Clinton. Obama made huge progress in this state. I was particularly impressed with the inroads he made here among older white men.

IMHO, a 9.2 point win by Hillary in this state is not that fantastic.

2. Right On The Money...
"Pennsylvania could have put a stop to this civil war, but the voters were not inclined to think their votes through. In this old commonwealth, older voters voted the old way, going with the familiar name and face, returning an emphatic "No, we can't." There were communities where voters put aside their resistance to change and voted for Mr. Obama -- the city of Pittsburgh, among them -- but not enough to matter."

I was happy that both Lancaster Co. & Dauphin Co. (Harrisburg) did vote heavily for Obama.
