Times are tough, but if you're lucky enough to have some $$$ to spare, you can't make a better investment than to donate to Obama!

8. Personally, I can think of at least 100 more charitable causes that
could use that $500.00. It is absolutely disgusting how much money is being thrown at this election. I'm so ashamed to be called an American each and every day. Thanks for reminding me of another reason.

46. Cannot agree there
At this point nothing helps more of the needy more than electing Democrats and defeating Republicans.

But for myself, I only gave $50 to Obama, and recently $35 to the Sierra Club.

49. I think its disgusting that millions and millions are wasted filling the
corp CEO's pockets from an election. The AD's alone are off setting the Writer's strike. I seriously think if Colbert, Stewart, and SNL were on the air last fall, we'd have 1 Dem leader running against McCain. In the mean time real people are losing their homes and going hungry. Education progams are being slashed (like we need anymore uneducated electorate with the power of the vote).. and speaking of Vote, how many are still going to the Polls this November to cast a ballot on a machine that is unverifiable? How many justice depts are still set up as a political hack machine for the Repugs? I understand the need for a Dem. I will go, hold my nose, and vote for the Dem. Do I think either of them are going to be able to get out of the mess that Bush and a long run of Reptards have led us to, NO! I have to say that the money being thrown at the presidential bid is disgusting and sickening.

52. Well, McCain and Obama have put a Public Financing law... However,
both have decided against using it.. Perhaps it should have been mandatory. I'd also say that the Senate and House of Reps need term limits. Lobbyists should be out and out banned. AND since the airwaves are supposed to be public, how about using one of those for the candidates to debate and to get their message accross.. to the people.. I might add that the local candidates who don't have nearly this amount of monied access and who are fighting against a long seated incumbent would really do well by having access where they could relay their platform and introduce themselves to the people. There are a lot of good ways to increase public awareness of candidates and issues and in a venue which more people could gain access. AND in between candidates asking for the vote, we could have information of bills that are being passed in a real issue informative way and general education on how elections work. M$M is doing a really poor job informing people about the issues.. they are too stuck on bitter remarks, flying snipers, and britney spears.

Also, the primary elections and the general elections need to really be re-vamped. The system sucks and does not work for the people. The ideas candidates get lost, and the monied corp candidates get propelled. Also, the House of Reps need more Reps. There are not enough people being adequately served. Too many people per Rep. In the end they work for no one and only try to stay in their seat every election.

59. The presidency "of, by, and for the people" is an important cause as well
How much have you donated to Charity?

Who's to say the OP hasn't? It's absolutely disgusting to rain on someone's parade in giving to this cause.

Winning back the presidency will be charity to the whole nation. I look at it this way, it is charity to the millions who have lost their jobs, homes, going without health care, etc, because if we can get a President who actually gives a damn about them, their situation might improve. This nation is on a detrimental path!

31. That is a good point.
It is not just about the 100 dollar or the 25 dollar ones. Its about all the little ones combined to form a May warchest.

People are donating and organizing donation drives because they want this over as soon as possible. So every little bit helps in a final GREAT push across May for an Obama VICTORY.

For me- $25.00 is a lot of money, too.

I donate $10.00 when I am able to, which
isn't very often.

$500.00 is great, if you're able to afford it.

Whatever you can give helps.

I love this yall. Clinton folks are donating to a black hole and if we work hard for an Obama victory in Indiana they will be less inclined to donate after May 6th if not maxed out.

We can do this folks lets outfundraise Clinton!

We make the smallest of small donations. We are low income on food stamps and medicaid, but have donated $5 and $10 when we could, believing that every bit counts. We just ordered a bumper sticker when my husband got paid last week. People like you who can make big donations make me so happy :)

21. While you are donating, please remember the election integrity group of your choice.
Your donation could = life or death for one of our Election Integrity groups that's struggling now to protect the 2008 Election as best we can.

So please people, when donating to these campaigns with hundreds of million$ raised, please think of sending a little something to the Election Integrity organization of your choice too.

Many of our groups are struggling to hang on (especially some of our smaller local and state groups) at a time when we should be flush and preparing to protect and if necessary challenge the November election.

DO IT NOW. December is too late.

32. Yes in my view because it will be combined with everything he has managed to save in previous months
He did not spend 40 million last month. Clinton spent nearly every cent the Campaign had. So if the donations keep flowing into the Obama campaign... He is going to have a MIGHTY warchest for May. And a warchest that can be used in mostly one month putting work in states WELL downstream!

She would need a million 5 dollar donors just to reach 5 million.

Over 2100 maxing out

Or

50 thousand 100 dollar donations
