Obama not being close to the Clintons will help with Independents and Disillusioned Republicans.

I handed out campaign literature for Clark in 04. People were really suspicious of his ties to the Clintons. People that would have been receptive to his message and candidacy were turned off by the fact that they viewed him as a Clinton puppet. So I think the fact that Obama is not close to the Clintons will greatly help with the independent and disillusioned republican voters.

The Independent Voters will decide this election and a majority of Independents have a VERY UNFAVORABLE opinion of Clinton. Which is another reason why she can't be on the ticket.
