"Obama Will Take Away Your Guns"
Edited on Thu Apr-24-08 01:08 PM by sparosnare
This was stated in a robocall to residents of Pennyslvania on the eve of the election. All of my family members got it. It was a recording; a man's voice urging people to vote for Hillary because Obama has a record of actively working against banning guns and if he becomes president, will make it his priority to take away gun ownership from Americans.

I truly believe this call had an impact on the election outcome, with a great number of people making up their minds at the last minute. We all know it's a lie but the low information voters in PA don't have a clue. They hear the recording, get scared and vote for Hillary.

Hillary Clinton, a supposed DEMOCRAT, unscrupulously did exactly what Obama talked about when he made his bitter comment. No mention of it in the MSM.

So yeah, she's a great woman, a true inspiration to all Democrats.

1. Yeah. And Obama's comments during bittergate were incorrect how?
Seems like some clinging to me.

2. His comments were absolutely correct.

And while Hillary was calling him an elitist, her campaign was devising a robocall to prey upon the idiotic people of PA whose vote would be swayed by it.

3. I do not trust either of our candidate options...
when it comes to guns and the freedoms they entail. This will cost us votes in the general election.

Neither candidate would ban gun ownership. It's a stupid wedge issue used to get peopel all worked up.

5. Obama has supported the banning of guns in the past.
That is part of his record.

6. That is not true. Please check Obama's actual positions on firearms.
Control/Some limitations: yes. Banning them: No.

You can read them yourself here.

9. The DLC would like whoever wins the nomination to try to ban the most popular rifles in America,
aka "assault weapons," even though more people own them than hunt.

However, I believe Obama is smart enough to avoid repeating the IDIOCY of 1994-2004 on that issue, and leave it to the states. Which is why I will vote for Obama in the primary on May 6th here. IMO, Hillary is far too beholden to the DLC to walk away from the "assault weapon" bait-and-switch, and she promised just last week to make a ban a "top legislative priority."

The gun issue is not about hunting or hunting guns. It is about handguns and modern-looking civilian rifles.
