Hillary's brother sold Clinton pardons
Those Rodhams are all alike.

WASHINGTON -- Six years ago, the launch of Hillary Clinton's career in the US Senate was marred by allegations that her brothers had received payments from people pardoned by President Bill Clinton in the waning months of his presidency.
.......

Tony Rodham, who acknowledged approaching the president about a pardon for the couple, is the second of Hillary Clinton's brothers to receive money from people who were eventually pardoned by President Clinton. Hugh Rodham received $400,000 from two people, one of whom was pardoned and one whose sentence was commuted.

.......

Once caught, he didn't even pay the money back, as he said he would. Hillary was disappointed that her brother's sale of the Presidency was disclosed.

26. Latest court appearance was last November, 2007 - DURING THE PRIMARY
That was the child support issue. But do give you a flavor of how these sleazy brothers traded on the Clinton presidency, let's stroll down memory lane, courtesy of Wikipedia:
The year? 1999.
In 1999, Tony and brother Hugh Rodham entered into a $118 million venture to grow and export hazelnuts from the Republic of Georgia. The U.S. State Department and National Security Advisor Sandy Berger became upset, however, when the Rodhams' local business connection in Batumi turned out to be Aslan Abashidze, a major political opponent of Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze, then a key U.S. ally in the region.

Moreover, Tony Rodham flew to Rome to become godfather to Abashidze's grandson. After initial resistance. Berger and the Clintons prevailed upon the Rodham brothers to drop the deal. Tony Rodham would not state what his financial stake in the venture was.

Episodes such as these led Hillary Clinton's White House staff to refer to Tony and Hugh as "the Brothers Rodham", extending the American tradition of troublesome presidential siblings to the brother-in-law category;
one senior White House official would be quoted as saying, "YOU NEVER WANTED TO HEAR THEIR NAMES COME UP IN ANY CONTEXT OTHER THAN PLAYING GOLF."

29. If my household income
was in the eight digit range and I was running for President, I'd catch my brother's child support up. Hell, if I was that rich I'd do it even if I weren't running for President.

puh-leeze. You'll need to find another angle over which to deride the article or its posting given the laughable statute of limitations approach.

6. Tony, the same brother who won't pay Senator Boxer's daughter child support
...

In a disclosure that could prove embarrassing for his sister, Anthony Rodham has stiffed his former wife, Nicole Boxer, out of $75,000 in child support, as well as $55,000 in alimony, a source close to the case said.

Including interest and various fees and expenses, the presidential candidate's brother now owes Boxer - the daughter of Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) - more than $158,000, the source said.

The revelation that Rodham is delinquent with his payments won't be a welcome development for Hillary Clinton, coming as the too-close-to-call battle for the Democratic presidential nomination reaches a fevered pitch and with the first votes to be cast in Iowa in exactly two weeks.

Barbara Boxer has not endorsed a candidate in the race.

Nicole Boxer received judgments from a Washington judge ordering Rodham to pay up earlier this year, but the cash-strapped business consultant has yet to fork over the hefty sums.

"He has consistently been a deadbeat dad when it comes to paying child support and spousal support, despite the courts telling him over and over again that he must meet his obligations," a source close to Nicole Boxer said.

10. The idea that Hillary has been vetted is silly. There is a lot of crap from the end of the
Clinton Administration to now - 2000-2008.

Obama isn't fighting her with the Clinton dirty laundry from the past 10 years.

The Republicans will revel in it if they get to run against her.

The argument that she has been "vetted" rings especially hollow to me. That doesn't mean I want Obama to start flinging it around and he obviously doesn't want to (or need to) do it either.

The Keating Five should be part of the debate as well.

Instead the debate is about words taken out of context that have nothing to do with substance.

25. Hillary "It Takes A Village" Clinton is Deadbeat Aunt to her only nephew
Edited on Thu Apr-24-08 03:22 PM by Divernan
In the end, all politics are personal - and with good reason. Tell me HRC, if it takes a village to raise a child, - does that village include maybe AUNTS telling their deadbeat brothers to live up to their parental obligations. Especially deadbeat brothers who are out there raising funds for you and therefore acting as your agent/representative in your campaign? If HRC doesn't care enough about her own nephew/Chelsea's cousin, to deliver a shake of the famous Clinton finger and a stern "Shame on You", then why should she care about ANY American child? or Iranian child? or Iraqi child? Or all those Lebanese kids crippled, maimed and killed by the cluster bombs she could not bring herself to vote against? And it would also seem that the Rodham siblings have a problem in paying off their debts.

YAY, Changenow!!!

YAY!!!! At least I'm finally seeing that somebody on DU has been paying attention to what matters to the Clintons: money, power and influence. They just want to get back on the gravy train, just like the Bushes.

The Clintons never did much for 'regular people.'. They talk a good game.Their corruption ran very deep. Really, now Hillary is getting chummy with Scaife. ~SAD and funny?~

It's time for somebody NEW, relatively unspoiled. Obama has a brain and good intentions. Right now that's looking fine to me.

This should have legs. Too bad we don't have an independent media.

I just noticed the article's from 2007. Sometimes I think the Clintons get away with more shit than Republicans. I guess you get all the breaks when you cultivate Scaife, Drudge, Fox News, Washington Times, etc.
