Obama to appear on Fox Noise Sunday Morning.
http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/04/24/obama-countdown-clock-set-to-ring-with-appearance-this-week-on-fox-news-sunday/

..snip

Barack Obama has abandoned his more than two-year silent treatment toward “FOX News Sunday,” accepting an invitation to appear this week on the national morning talk show.

The Democratic presidential candidate’s appearance will end a 772-day record of refusing to sit down for an interview.

FOX News Sunday host Chris Wallace said the decision to launch a “count-up” clock may have helped encourage Obama’s decision to be a guest.

16. Obama was interviewed by IMO, least of the jerks, Major Garret that night.
He's been hounded by Chris Wallace who was under the distinct impression that Obama has been avoiding FAUX News. Imagine that?!? :P Therefore, Obama's boxed in because he don't DARE say that he would NEVER go on their asinine pseudo-news cable outlet - therefore ... yes,

OBAMA WILL GO INTO THE BELLY OF THE BEASTIE KNOWN AS FOX NEWS SUNDAY WITH CHRIS WALLACE.

Quick, let's make sure he's prepared with a crucifix, garlic necklace and a figurative wooden stake should old Chris Wallace go after him. GHOULS? Indeed! :scared:

5. A total mistake.
Its about time Democrats stay away from that propagandist machine. If every Democrat refused to recognize Fox then they would seriously cease to be. Obama is making a huge mistake because these people are not looking for answers, they are simply looking to smear.

If you believe in your convictions, you shouldn't be afraid of any questions.

If you always have to go to friendly media outlets, then that's a sign that you're trying to hide something.

27. Chris Wallace is a lamebrained jerk, so.....
If Obama can't run rings around him, then he shouldn't be in this race
anyway. I think Obama can make Wallace look pitiful while holding his own
just fine. If he can't, he has no business being a candidate. I can't imagine
that Obama will blow this, and I have to think that his team has decided that
it is time to make an attempt to present him as a serious alternative to McCain
to those voters most likely to vote McCain, and that is on Fox.

I'm not an Obama supporter per se (nor a Clinton supporter per se), but if I
were on his campaign team, I would have agreed that the time has come for him
to confront the Fox weasels in their own den. I think he can handle it.

a liberal Democrat for president, just once in my life. You may be willing to settle for Senator I-love-Ronald-Reagan but I mourn the loss of a real opportunity to save this country.

A strong, liberal message would have gotten support this time around, but it was drowned out by the corporate media and the egos of the center-right DINOs now destroying each other and any hope for significant reversal of this nation's dash toward fascism.

67. I can understand the rationale behind boycotting FOX,
but there's also some powerful symbolism in a Democrat going there. It's kinda like the old Celtic warriors going into battle naked. Lookie here--I'm not afraid of you. Do your worst.

And let's be honest here--many of the people who most need to see a Democrat watch nothing but Fox. Imagine them tuning in expecting to see Osama bin Laden's old buddy from the madrasah and instead finding a smart, sensible candidate for the presidency. I think he can pick up some votes by going on Fox.

61. Go where the people are: SMART at last.
Fox news is the highest rated cable news channel. many Americans watch it and pay attention. You want to reach the PEOPLE, you go where they are. It's about time.

I actually see far more extended debates and opinion pieces with the 'liberals' on Fox than on CNN. You can't tell me Fox talent such as Shep Smith are all rightwingers. I've watched it for a long time. O'Reilly is a big blowhard as is E.D. Hill. But all in all Fox has some real talent.

I cannot stand Larry King, boring Anderson Cooper or most of the talking heads on CNN. When Katrina hit and we'd fled NOLA we watched all the news channels. Rick Levenger, Shep Smith and geraldo were on the ground, in the water before CNN ever got to baton Rouge. I picked up my Fox habit then.

Some of them are rightwingers, most on Fox are not.

81. Fox is evil incarnate! :)
I flip around most of the cable news shows at night. I don't see why Fox is demonized. O'Reilly and H&C always have liberal guests on for spirited debate. Hannity is a blowhard "God and Apple Pie" schmuck, but he puts a lot of liberals on his show.

My beef with Olberman is that he rarely -- if ever -- has true conservatives on his show to debate anything. Howard Fineman is on about 87% of the time for some reason, though.

74. And why are you guys surprised after what Obama did to Carter re: the Hamas visit?
Obama knew that he would catch hell if he admitted that dialogue with Hamas is benefitial to the peace process, so he threw Carter under the bus instead.

Joe Conason has a new column about Clinton, Obama and McCain's behaviour handling this whole situation.

78. He didn't throw anyone under a bus
He disagreed with Carter's meeting with Hamas. Disagreeing with someone does not mean they are dead to you. I would expect he has already talked to Carter about the situation.
