Wright back in the news soon - not good
Saw the clip from PBS interview airing tomorrow, he says "Obama is a politician and had to do what he does". The issue is back out front again and Obama's lack of clear denouncement will be tested again.

the Senate Chaplain while Bob Dole was Senate Majority Leader. Of the 5
ministers at this church, he was by FAR the most conservative. I didn't
really agree with many of his sermons (or his political views), but I
DID happen to like SEVERAL other ministers at the church, and so I remained
as a member. Like Obama, I took the church ON BALANCE and stayed because
of the good works they were doing in the community. When the senior
minister's sermons got a little too "fundie" for me, I figured out my weekly
budget on the church bulletin ... I don't find it unusual for someone to
stay with a large church even though ONE of its pastors might have been
"controversial" or someone they disagreed with.

Edited on Thu Apr-24-08 05:01 PM by Cali_Democrat
Bush launched a war in Iraq that...

-Killed over 4,000 US troops

-Injured tens of thousands of US troops

-Killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqis

-Displaced millions of Iraqis

-Cost 3 trillion dollars

-Caused oil prices to spike

And this is somehow comparable to the Reverend Wright "scandal?"

Matthews is a tool

I'm sorry as much as I may feel that the Wright stuff is way overblown, this is only going to give fuel to the fire he should should keep himself off the air. Can't we learn anything from the other peoples scandals, you never see Republicans that have scandals interviewed during elections.

But I'm sure that I'm more hotheaded than Obama is. So we'll see how he approaches this.

36. Realistically, though, Obama IS a politician ...
maybe a new kind, but ALL politicians "play politics." If they
didn't, they'd probably be shooting their mouths off about all sorts
of things ... Wright is just acknowledging that, as a candidate,
Obama has to do SOME things he may not like to do (like having
to repudiate a friend).

NO politician is 100% genuine -- all we can do is vote for the
one who's sold out the LEAST.

And he knows what Obama has to do? And Obama agrees with him? Or did Obama say this and the Reverend just repeated it? How many more times does Obama have to take responsibility for what this nut says? At some time or another, the guilt by association must stop.

and if the American people were properly introduced to him they might see how he has been trashed unnecessarily. I mean if he was good enough to be invited to give Bill Clinton spiritual counseling after Monica, then perhaps it's time to let the man speak for himself.
