I hope Dean destroys Hillary Clinton, especially if Obama loses to McCain
Edited on Thu Apr-24-08 05:01 PM by lynyrd_skynyrd
Let's see what kind of leader the Democratic party really has. I am a great admirer of Howard Dean and thus far I think he has done an excellent job at working to turn the Democratic party around from the corporatist Republican enablers they currently are to a true liberal opposition.

Unfortunately, it's going to take time, and we're going to have to be extremely patient. There are still too many traitors in the Democratic party that need to be weeded out. We can start with Hillary Clinton.

If Obama loses to McCain in November, it will have been because of what she is doing right now. Make no mistake, she will be to blame. McCain is not having to spend as much money attacking Obama right now, because Hillary is doing it for him. He doesn't have to divide Democrats right now, because Hillary is doing it for him. He is not being attacked by Democrats right now as much as he ought to be, because Hillary is keeping Obama busy defending himself against her Rovian attacks. Obama is not spending money attacking McCain, because he has to go after Hillary.

I think Hillary Clinton is the perfect first target. She represents everything that is wrong with the Democratic party right now. She is at the very top of the DLC, which is what needs to be cut out like the cancer that it is. Then the other DINOs not in the DLC need to go. How can one identify a DINO? Here's a hint: If you're a self described "centrist", "moderate", or "conservative Democrat", and you're afraid of using the word "liberal", you most likely don't belong in the new Democratic party that is going to be built in the coming years.

Chop off the head and the body will die.

Why bother in that case?
The Dem Party will effectively be dead.

33. Exactly, that is their only goal.
To ensure the Democratic Party is never an opposition party to the GOP.

1. Another woman needs to take her down
I mean that. I hope Pelosi does something to put a stop to this.

It cannot be a man who does this. A WOMAN has to step up and put her in her place for the good of all women, this party, and this country.

6. That's pretty damn sad
that Hillary and her supporters have ran the term sexism to the ground to the point that it has to be a woman to talk some sense to her. Why can't it be a plain oh well meaning Democrat? I cannot wait to see her leave this race for good.

He could get away with it, but possibly because people would be too surprised to be outraged.

16. Here in Colorado that certainly was the case in 2004.
Where Dems won the majority of the state legislature for the first time since 1960.

Did they do so by being traditional liberals? No. They did so by being moderate or centrist Democrats.

Ken Salazar? Conservative Democrat.

Bill Ritter? Centrist Democrat.

21. Traditionally red districts do not make the leap to safe blue districts.
They must be changed over time.

I like Bernie Sanders but he's not the right candidate for some districts.

23. Bingo. A candidate cannot bend the will of the voters to suit his or her politics.
Instead, the candidate must bend to the will of the voters.

25. Almost
A candidate must bend to what the voters have been led to believe their will is. Most Americans think that (a) they are overtaxed and (b) life for them will be better if their taxes are lower. Neither of those is true, but that's the way they vote.

The point is to run better candidates, ones who will replace the timidity of these cowards with a fight for real progressive causes.

4. If Obama loses, it will be because of Obama...
Despite all the bitching here, everyone is voting for the Dem nominee. There was so much whining in 04 about Kerry get the nomination, and a few months later those that bashed him wanted to give him oral sex.

The same thing will happen here regardless of who the nominee is. The supporters of the other opponent over time will support that person.

But first they will whine, cry, say how they are leaving, and ultimately come back.

It's pretty boring to watch.

10. I don't know if that will hold true this time around. Historically Democrats have shown themselves
to be very willing to abandon the party and contribute to huge GOP landslides.

Hopefully the losing side comes around eventually, but I wouldn't say it is a given.

5. I agree -- their dislike for Dean is what makes me dislike THEM
All Dean has tried to do since being elected party chairman is to BUILD the party,
by bringing in new voters, developing a 50-state strategy, developing IDEAS that
transcend individuals (no more waiting another 40 years for a charismatic guy like
Bill to come along). And when Dean was at the apex -- having just proven himself
by helping us win back BOTH HOUSES of Congress in '06 -- the Clintons wanted to
REPLACE him? And with who? Now DLC head Harold Ford, Jr.

They do not have the best interests of the Democratic Party at heart -- they care only
about the interests of the Clintonistas (Carville, Begala, McAuliffe, Davis, et al.).

28. exactly
Florida is a red state in case you haven't noticed since 2000 anyway-new rules time; you DON'T actually NEED Florida to win the presidency IF you employ Dean's 50 state strategy

Either the DLC dies, or the Democratic party itself does.

And don't worry, Agent Mike..... by "dies" I mean the corporatist entity, not any individuals who loosely pass for human beings.

Such is the nature of politics, and such is the responsibility that Obama will have to win his own election.

27. OMG! You are doing a "Pre-Emptive Strike" if Obama doesn't win in November?
You are going to blame this on HILLARY? You know...I'm not a Clinton supporter but this is really so OTT...I had to answer because it's absurd...Casting Blame before a "National Election" has even happened? :eyes:

If Obama loses to McCain in November, it will have been because of what she is doing right now. Make no mistake, she will be to blame.
