**** 1.444 MILLION peopleave donated to Obama! Onward to the goal of 1,500,000 donors by May 6! ****
NOTE: This is a new topic due to the old one growing long. It started mid April 22 at 1,373,029 and as of this new topic (Afternoon April 24 2006) he has over 1,444,147 donors!!

http://www.barackobama.com/index.php

I have been watching this graphic and it is growing QUITE rapidly!! I seriously think that the 1.5 MILLION! people that have donated by May 6 goal is quite possible if we continue to urge others to donate!

If you got friends or family that has been considering Obama please ask them to consider makeing a donation! And please continue to ask elseware!

BTW please don't forget that you can also Phonebank at http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/phonebankmap /

Onward to may and to victory in November everyone!!

GOBAMA!!!

BTW before Clinton supporters ask. I am not part of the Obama Campaign. (I am not that lucky :( ) I am just an Obama fan and supporter!

1. THAT's more of an achievement than sheer dollars
1.5 MILLION PEOPLE who are INVESTED in him, who support him (even in
this bad economy) enough to open their pocketbooks. That's got to
scare her campaign to death ...

7. It was around 1,375,000 when Pennsylvania was called for Hillary...
so that means close to 70,000 NEW donors have given since a loss! That says something good.

8. I'm so glad money is back in our elections in a big way.
I got so tired of all the do-gooders saying it was corrupting the system.

Real Americans have always demanded the best government money can buy.

11. Take a dump elseware Benhurst
You know you just want Clinton to be in the lead money wise so you mise well just take it somewhere else.

Then donations are flooding in and Clinton is going to be outfundraised again.

13. I couldn't care less about Clinton.
And the money corrupts no matter who gets it.

This used to be a progressive site.

Google Obama and Excelon if you think The One is above being corrupted.

16. And?
Edited on Thu Apr-24-08 08:36 PM by Benhurst
There seems to be no end to criticizing Clinton, especially by those following the new politics of Hope and Unity.

So is it Obama that's beyond criticism and off limits, or is campaign financing a taboo subject now that "The One" is outstripping the late, great Oral Roberts raising funds?

18. The two least qualified candidates have floated to the top.
Edited on Thu Apr-24-08 08:45 PM by Benhurst
While it would be nice, if increasingly unlikely, to defeat McCain, neither of our two biggest losers has been able to garner the support of enough Democrats to be nominated with out being dragged over the finish line by unelected super delegates, and either will have great difficulty uniting the party itself, to say nothing of the nation as a whole.

Not everyone unenthusiastic about Obama is a Hillary supporter. She is also a flawed candidate.

23. and none of the other Democrats could get even close to Obama and Clinton in support
If the fact that neither Obama nor Clinton has been able to garner enough support to put away a majority of the delegates at this point makes them losers, what does that make the other candidates, who were in the race at the start, who did get put away? In your view that makes them winners? I must visit your upside down world some day. The view must be intoxicating.

29. I'd say it will hit 1.5 before the end of the month
easily. Which means the campaign will probably release fund raising figures toward the end of next week. They need to be pushing for 2 million by the 6th.

35. Not really
There is but 12.5 days before the primary which means that there needs to be around 4500 new donors a day to make 1.5

The big amount of new donors after the primary meant that 1.5 was feasible not 2.

36. I just gave $100 - but i've donated before, so do I count?
Is the 1,500,000 number NEW donors, or total number of donations? I've donated to him 6 times now... so I don't know if I actually helped the donator number go up.. but at least I made the $$$ go up!

38. No its total number of donors. So it counted your first time.
So 1.446 Million people total have donated. If it counted number of donations. The number would be in the tens of millions.
