Unexpected Obama Supporter???
NYT article is suggesting that Rahm Emanuel (the aggressive former Clinton administration aide and chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee) who publicy said he favored Clinton last year–but hasn't endorsed yet, may be leaning toward Obama. the article quoted him with this line:
"The way the loser loses, will determine whether the winner wins in November."
(something to think about....)

Emanuel has also said that he expects the Democratic race to end in May -- a time frame that arguably precludes the possibility of a Clinton victory.

7. Not so much a surprise to me -
The DLC chase the reins of power, and if the power shifts to Obama, the DLC will be right there to subvert it.

17. Exactly.
They're the 'RATs' in "Democrats" at this point. Selling out to the plutocRATs.

25. You mean the dlc won't
be pulling dlc hilary out of her bilge water if the power is with Obama?

Good Luck subverting Obama's and our power.

26. DING DING DING!!! We have a winner ...
RE is a self-promoting opportunist. I want Obama to win, but I don't think RE is going to matter one iota as to whether Senator Obama gets the nomination or wins the GE. I mean, for chrissakes, is RE going to help Senator Obama win Illinois??? Something tell me that's not really a state where Barack Obama needs much help this November.

I'm sure RE is already measuring for drapes in Obama's senate office ...

4. Not totally surprising. After all, Rahm just wants to win, and anyone can see that
Hillary is damaged goods.

5. Unexpected? Not quite. Rahm is very good friends with David Axelrod.
He's also from Illinois. Obama's vacant Senate seat would be very low hanging fruit for the picking by Emanuel. It's almost a given that he would win.

It also means Emanuel wouldn't have Nancy Pelosi as a thorn in his side anymore. Those two have a power conflict and would be happy to see the other gone from their realm of influence.

8. I lost any respect for Emanuel after the '06 election cycle
And I quit taking there emails as well. He cherry picked whom he would support financially and there were some viable candidates he refused to help and they could have won there seats with a little financial funding. So, I don't care for him.

20. Obviously you haven't been updated on previous election cycles
And are not aware what the DCCC did to viable candidates.

11. Which says they are corporate loving Dems
Why would anyone be surprised at these developments? Obama had corporate lobbyists write his issues platform, raise money for him, etc.

He is the corporate candidate, far more than Clinton.

18. No, Rahm Emmanuel is widely known
for his very close ties to corporate funders, not just through his association with the DLC.

Evidence?

I mean of all the other once potential nominees, Obama is not the most progressive I'll give you that. But those are some pretty strong accusations.

14. Yeah, f*ck him for trying to steal all the credit from Howard Dean for the 2006 elections.
Which is exactly what that weasel attempted to do. In his mind, Rahm's the one who engineered the win for the Dems and as far as he's concerned, Dean can p*ss off.

That guy is a greaseball. If he supports Obama, fine, but ugh.

I can only imagine he sees some opportunity here. He should be with Clinton.
