4. Excellent!
Excuse me while I shamelessly kick my thread, in hopes of generating more complaints to the FCC against Rush...

I hope people were able to listen to Mike Malloy tonight because this entire "take it to the convention" nonsense is scary. This goes deeper than fighting for a dem candidate. If Bush is able to justify martial law over a convention fight then we are all screwed.

promoting a riot on public radio troubles me 2

As every state in the United States has its own laws (subject to the Supremacy Clause), each has its own definition of 'riot.' In New York State, for example, the term 'riot' is not defined explicitly, but under § 240.08 of the N.Y. Penal Law, A person is guilty of inciting to riot when he urges ten or more persons to engage in tumultuous and violent conduct of a kind likely to create public alarm.

8. FYI, some details.
You want to click on Form 2000, General Complaints. Select Form 2000E, Media (General) Complaint, then the relevant information is that you're complaining about a specific radio program. The network is Premiere Radio Networks, the show is The Rush Limbaugh Show, the date is 4/24/2008, the time is 12:00pm (that's when Rush's show airs live in Eastern time.)

10. I used the provided FCC email address
Edited on Fri Apr-25-08 10:12 AM by chill_wind
The onine form was timing out/taking forever for me. You can just paste this address into your email:

fccinfo@fcc.gov

Put Media Complaint and his name and topic in the subject line
Mine was short and sweet:

Dear Sirs:

By now you have undoubtedly received much mail regarding recent comments calling for an "Operation Chaos" made by radio
commentator Rush Limbaugh.

Isn't the act of publicly advocating/inciting riots of any kind a criminal one? Please
investigate the actions of this media person.

More information on this story is here:

"Riots in Denver, the Democrat Convention would see to it that we don't elect Democrats,"
Limbaugh said during Wednesday's radio broadcast. He then went on to say that's the best
thing that could happen to the country.

Thank you in advance for looking into this matter.

17. The online form's timing out? Potentially a very good sign!
Could be that the FCC's getting a very large deluge of complaints about Oxy-Rush!

EXCELLENT WORK! KEEP IT GOING!!!

12. He could lose his license for this .
He has gone way to far this time. He could lose his license for this and it’s up to us to make sure he does. We all have to fill out a complaint with the FCC.

13. This was mine, just sent.
Dear Sirs:

I believe that recent comments made by Rush Limbaugh constitute a threat to national security. He’s has been advocating “riots” at the General Election Convention on his radio program. Certainly if I were advocating the same, I’d be the subject of investigation.
This man can not be allowed to promote his views of violence on a nationally syndicated radio program, and should be removed from his position.

Isn't the act of publicly advocating/inciting riots of any kind a criminal one? Please
investigate the actions of this media person.

This falls under the category of anti American activities.
